On the Monday, March 18 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Hope finally gave Thomas yet another answer to his marriage proposal. All signs pointed to her finally saying yes. That’s certainly what Thomas and others expected Hope to say.
Hope Says Nope
Hope (Annika Noelle) wasn’t surprised to see Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) get down on one knee and propose…again…as she wore the gorgeous golden gown he designed for her. “Marry me, Hope. I have loved you for as long as I can remember. I promise to you that I will be a wonderful husband and father. A great father. Say you’ll marry me, Hope. Say you’ll be my wife.” He said.
Surely, this time, Hope was ready to commit her life to him and move his ring from around her neck to her left hand. Instead of the “yes” Thomas expected to hear, Hope said, “I love you. Thomas, I really do. But I can’t accept your proposal. I’m not ready.”

Perhaps not surprisingly, Thomas wasn’t interested in hearing Hope’s reasons for turning him down. Instead, he angrily left the room as she tried to explain. He ran into Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and he ended up telling her Hope had rejected him again. Steffy encouraged her brother to let Hope go, saying she’d never commit to him.
Is Thomas ready to do that? What will he end up doing after yet another rejection? Will he revert to his dark side once again? Certainly Thomas seems to have changed dramatically, but was it the hope that Hope would agree to be his wife that kept him mostly on the straight and narrow recently? Hope’s answer might also have implications for Hope for the Future and Thomas’s job. Surely, he won’t be able to follow Steffy’s advice while working so closely with Hope.
One thing we do know is that Steffy isn’t going to let Hope’s “no” go unnoticed. Were you surprised that Hope said no? Sound off in the comments below.
