It’s official. Matthew Atkinson is back on The Bold and the Beautiful as Thomas Forrester. The residents of Los Angeles are in for a shakeup from this reformed bad boy. Fans can’t wait for his return, which is slated for September.
Thomas Forrester Comes Home
Thomas is back where he belongs. The rumors started when Matthew Atkinson teased his return to the CBS Studios. His return is much-needed, especially with all that’s happened with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), and Taylor (Rebecca Budig). Thomas was last on the show in July 2024, when he announced his engagement to Paris Buckingham (Diamond White).

The couple headed back to Europe, where they currently reside. Thomas abruptly left after Hope (Annika Noelle) turned down several of his marriage proposals. Now, she’s engaged to Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor). Interestingly enough, all it took was one question from him for her to say yes. Will Thomas return with Paris by his side or for a burning heart for Hope?
B&B Fans React
Social media has been abuzz with the news of Atkinson’s return to B&B. Most of the reaction took place on X, formerly Twitter. There were mostly positive reactions, but some negative comments. Most of the criticism concerns the origins of Thomas and Hope’s relationship, when he was obsessed with her and tried to destroy her marriage to Liam (Scott Clifton).
But not everyone sees Thomas as the bad guy. One person wrote, “Please keep Hope Logan away from Thomas this time.” Some fans believed that Hope played with Thomas’s heart too much in the past. There might not be a chance for reconciliation at this time.
However, other fans hope that “Thope” will get back together. Hopefully, Atkinson’s return isn’t a short stint this time around. One fan wrote, “I hope Matthew Atkinson’s return as Thomas Forrester is a permanent one. He has been missed.” Meanwhile, the majority of fans have been using the hashtag #Thope to share their reaction.
