Denise Richards, formerly Shauna on The Bold and the Beautiful, once strutted her stuff in the ballroom on Dancing With the Stars. Now, the actress is teaming up with two stars from that show to appear in the Lifetime thriller movie, Hunting Housewives.
Denise Richards: From Prey to Hunted
B&B’s Shauna became embroiled in an emotional drama when she was torn between letting Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) know that their Las Vegas quickie marriage was legal or letting him live a lie. She chose to do the right thing and fessed up the truth. Now, Richards has another dilemma in Hunting Housewives and as the title may suggest, it’s about physical danger (check out this other film she did here).
Richards plays Karla Dodds, who along with three pals Rebel Carron-Whitman (NeNe Leakes), Joli Symons (Kym Johnson Herjavec), and Sharell Bouvier (Melyssa Ford), takes off for a weekend spa retreat. The four women are betting a break from their hectic work and family lives when suddenly, their plane goes down.
The housewives must use their wits — and whatever is in their designer bags — to survive the rugged wilds. The situation escalates when they realize they are not alone…watch for “frenemies” to team up to stay one step ahead of their adversaries.
Richards (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) has more in common with Leakes (The Real Housewives of Atlanta) than playing reality housewives. They each competed on DWTS. Paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Richards came in 12th place in 2008. Leakes appeared on the show in 2014 and came in 7th place with pro partner Tony Dovolani.
Johnson Herjavec became a dance pro in Season 3 of the reality competitions series and won the coveted mirror ball trophy on two occasions. Ford is a Canadian actress, whose credits include the series Entourage.
Beth Stevenson, Nancy Yeaman, Stan Hum, and Vanessa Shapiro executive produce Hunting Housewives. The script was written by Paula Tiberius wrote the script; the film was directed by Marco Deufemia. Hunting Housewives is set to air on Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m. ET.
