The Bold and the Beautiful star Sean Kanan is sending out some supportive words to actor Bruce Willis whom he’s acted alongside in not one but two movies. Now, Kanan is thinking of the Moonlighting star in light of the actor’s recent health update.

Sean Kanan Pays Tribute To Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis’s family has released a statement that he will be stepping away from acting as he has been diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects cognitive abilities. “Saddened to learn that the legendary @brucewillisbw has retired,” Kanan shared on Instagram. “I had the honor of working on two films [Survive the Game and Fortress] with Bruce. He was kind and a gentleman. I grew up watching him and it was a lifelong dream to work with him not once but twice. I want to wish he and his family all the best. #brucewillis.”

Demi Moore, GH’s First Jackie Templeton, Honors Her Ex

Willis’s former wife, Demi Moore, is known to soap fans from her turn as Jackie Templeton on General Hospital, also weighed in on the emotional news. “To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” Moore posted on behalf of the entire family on Instagram. “As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.

“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support,” the family statement read. “We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that. Love, Emma, Demi, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, & Evelyn.”

Bruce Willis Broke Ground on Moonlighting

Willis and actress Cybill Shepherd made television history starring in the ABC mystery/comedy series Moonlighting. Shepherd played Maddie Hayes and Willis was David Addison, Jr. The couple became the gold standard for bantering romantic duos. In fact, the word ‘Moonlighting’ is often used to describe similar couples in scripted fare. (“They have a ‘Moonlighting’ vibe to them.”) Willis went on to conquer the big screen starring as John McClane in the Die Hard movies. He’s also appeared in The Sixth Sense and the TV series Ally McBeal.

Willis has won two Primetime Emmys. His first came for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his Moonlighting role. His next came for playing Paul Stevens on Friends in the category of Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.

Soap Hub sends warm wishes and good thoughts to Willis and his family at this challenging time. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
