After what looked like an in-and-out role as Miss Dylan, Hayes’ summer school art teacher, Sydney Bullock has been signed to a contract on The Bold and the Beautiful. Along the way, her character gained a best friend, Electra (Laneya Grace), and what appears to be the promise of a meaty storyline.
All About the Actor Behind B&B’s Dylan
Born and raised in Kentucky, the self-professed animal lover enjoyed growing up on a variety of farms and around horses. Bullock began her career in theater as a young child before segueing to film. She performed with the Bluegrass Youth Ballet and appeared in several productions with the Academy of Creative Excellence. Eventually, she relocated to Los Angeles, where her career quickly took off.

1. Bullock is best known for her role as Stacey Albright in the Netflix supernatural drama Stranger Things. She made her debut in Season 2’s “The Gate” episode as the girl that Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) asked to dance at the Snow Ball, but she rejected him. She reprised the character in Season 3’s “The Mall Rats” and Season 5’s “The Rightside Up”.
2. She totally enjoyed her time on the hit Netflix series. “It felt like I stepped into a time machine,” explained Bullock during an interview with A Coming of Age Movie Podcast. “It was like the set, the costumes, the makeup, the hair… Just everything was so 80s. And I’ve always wanted to know what it was like to live in the 80s, so it was super fun. Everyone was so welcoming, kind, and talented. It was just such an amazing experience.”
3. Bullock’s professional acting career began in 2017 with guest appearances on television series. Her first credited role was in the 2018 Dynasty reboot. She played Young Kirby in one episode.
4. She became known to film audiences for her work in Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween (2018). Bullock played Vanessa in the horror comedy and sequel to the 2015 film adaptation of R.L. Stine’s popular book series.
5. What are Bullock’s passions? She’s danced since she was a child and often put in 20 hours a week practicing. Her resume cites her proficiency in jazz, tap, and modern dance.
6. When it comes to her acting inspirations, Bullock cites two veteran stars: Meryl Streep and Denzel Washington. “I’ve watched old interviews with her, and she’s such a humble and kind person,” said the actress about Streep. “And Denzel Washington is so incredible and goes and speaks at universities and schools. He’s very into giving back to the community.”
7. Another interest of Bullock’s has always been handwriting and, specifically, calligraphy. “I became a little obsessed during quarantine,” said the actress during A Coming of Age Movie Podcast, referring to the 2020 pandemic. “Now it’s becoming an everyday thing.”
