The Bold and the Beautiful News Update: Scott Clifton’s New Twist On The Cup Song

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Scott Clifton did his own take on an iconic movie scene, posting a video of his efforts on Instagram, and it’s obvious that he practiced hard for his close-up.

In 2012, Anna Kendrick had a generation of youngsters singing When I’m Gone, otherwise known as the Cup Song, after her character Beca in the movie Pitch Perfect sang the song at an audition for the Barden Bellas, randomly hitting and maneuvering cups on the floor while she sang.

“Making good use of quarantine. (Swipe for a behind-the-scenes exclusive.) #cups,” he wrote, inviting people to watch.

The video shows the actor mimicking Kendrick’s famous scene complete with handclaps and cup turns, though sadly, there’s no singing to be heard. He finishes with a very satisfied “boom” as he points to the camera, definitely proud of what he’s accomplished.

A second video shows the actor and his young son watching a how-to instructional video on doing The Cup properly, with both practicing with a plastic cup. His adorable kid doing his own version is a must-watch as well.

In reply to Clifton’s post, BB makeup artist James Elle offered to teach him an extended version of the song when they get back to work and Clifton responded, “Yes Please” to her kind offer.

Although the Pitch Perfect trilogy is finished, perhaps Clifton can put his new skill to use on the show. On-screen, Liam probably wouldn’t have the time to learn something like this as he continues to waffle between Steffy and Hope, but maybe Clifton can bring The Cup Song to the show and Liam can impress the loves of his life.
