Before The Bold and the Beautiful fell in love with Ronn Moss and his portrayal as the original Ridge Forrester, the actor/singer was an international sensation as a part of the rock group Player, thanks to their ginormous hit, Baby Come Back. Now the star has updated it — and you just have to hear this new version.
The song was originally released in late 1977 and was the lead single on the group’s self-titled first album. It hit number one on the Billboard charts and it apparently had two versions back then — an album version that ends with a guitar solo fade out, while the single version had a shorter opening and ended with the chorus being repeated as it fades out. Now Moss has created yet another more haunting version for our times.
“Inspired by the pandemic,” Moss writes, “I have recorded a new version of ‘Baby Come Back’ featuring highlights from my life before the lockdown with hope that our world [will] come back to embrace humanity with love and hope for our future.”
The actor has been riding out the coronavirus shutdown in Europe and the video feels like part travelogue (which in these times when few actually get the chance to travel, is pretty awesome), part intimate concert (another thing that people have had to do without during these strange times) — and is just what his fans need to feel good and escape for a few minutes.
Instagram user @brian.l.liss spoke for many fans when he wrote, “@ronnmoss. This was so incredible, very well done, loved the editing on the video, 2020, bringing music videos back to tv, 👍😁👍💜💜💜💜” while others simply left many heart emojis to share their gratitude about Moss’s latest musical effort. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
