TV fans know Molly McCook as one of the stars of the Fox sitcom Last Man Standing. Her parents are, of course, The Bold and the Beautiful’s John McCook and Laurette Spang-McCook (Battlestar Galactica). Sadly, Molly suffered a recent loss that has left her heartbroken.
“Just said my final goodbye to my Joey boy,” Molly recently shared on Twitter, referring to the loss of her beloved dog. “My heart is broken. I got Joey when I was 16 years old. He lived such a full life and brought me so much joy. I’ll miss you every day. Hold your pups close tonight and every day.”
Molly recalls her parents thinking that the then-16-year-old wasn’t up for the responsibility of taking care of a dog. So, she assertively drafted up a contract to show her parents that she could take on the necessary duties.
“The contract I made when I was 16 to convince my parents I could have a dog,” Molly explained in a follow-up tweet that showed the actual contract. “They were against getting me a dog because they knew somehow he’d end up their responsibility. He showed up with a bow around his neck soon after. What a handful I was. This is ridiculous.”
John (who has played BB’s Eric since its premiere) couldn’t help but point out in response to his daughter’s tweet that her “contract” was lacking something pretty important, making it invalid. “You’ll notice it’s not actually signed…” John quipped.
Eagle-eyed viewers recall Molly from her stint on BB as Hope’s pal Margot. She appeared in the famous “necklace-gate” episode in which a masked Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) accidentally had sex with Hope’s boyfriend Oliver (Zack Conroy), who was also wearing a mask.
Currently, Molly stars as Mandy on Last Man Standing, which recently aired its 8th season finale. Soap Hub sends sincere condolences to the actress on the loss of her beloved Joey. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
