The emotional fallout to the baby Beth being alive saga continues on The Bold and the Beautiful. While Hope and Liam are thrilled over the return of their daughter, the show is celebrating something too — boffo ratings!
CBS has announced that for the week ending August 30 BB has attracted the show’s largest audience in nearly five months (since the week ending April 19). BB has brought in 3.39 million viewers. The half-hour serial is up from a year ago by 4%, according to the Nielsen rating.
What’s also impressive is that for the last five weeks (!), BB has come in first place in the coveted demographic of female viewers aged 18-49.
BB, created by William and Lee Phillip Bell, premiered on March 23, 1987. The Forrester, Logan, and Spencer families have been on the canvas since the show’s inception. Since then, the Avant clan has been added. More recent additions to BB include Zoe (Kiara Barnes), Flo (Katrina Bowden), and Shauna (Denise Richards).
BB has won three Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series (2009, 2010, and 2011). The show has won four Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team (2010, 2013, 2015, 2016).
Bradley Bell serves as the show’s executive producer and head writer. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
