Camryn Grimes has an exciting new role, but it doesn’t mean she’s leaving her gig as Mariah on The Young and the Restless. The actress is set to play a part on a CBS primetime drama!
A spokesperson for NCIS tells Soap Hub that Grimes will be appearing in an upcoming episode on the long-running procedural drama later this season. The two-time Emmy-winning actress will be playing the character Marine Corporal Laney Alimonte.
Details about Grimes’ appearance are scarce for now, but we do know the season premiere of NCIS, set for Tuesday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET, is titled Out Of The Darkness and focuses on the character of Ziva (Cote de Pablo), who made a surprise return to the canvas last season.
Ziva is back to give Gibbs (Mark Harmon) an important warning, which prompts him to question why she remained underground for so many years.
The show managed to pull off a surprise with Ziva’s resurrection. You can count on her friends and colleagues wanting some answers and hopefully, Ziva will provide them!
Grimes isn’t the only daytime star to guest on the popular nighttime show. In 2016, the actress’ real-life pal, Hayley Erin (ex-Kiki, General Hospital) did a guest spot on NCIS in an episode titled Love Boat. The Bold and the Beautiful’s Aaron D. Spears (Justin) played Marine Major Michael Strickland in 2011 in the episode Freedom.
Additionally, Guiding Light star Robert Newman (ex-Josh) did two episodes as Admiral Wayne Hargrove in 2011 and 2013. General Hospital’s Kathleen Gati (Dr. Obrecht) appeared in a pair of episodes in 2008 as Svetlana Chernitskaya.
