Throughout soap opera history, long lost siblings and paternity twists have been written onto shows. The Bold and the Beautiful utilized both these devices with the addition of Ridge Forrester’s true paternity and newly-discovered half-brother, Nick Marone (Jack Wagner).
Who Is Nick Marone?
Nick spent under a decade in Los Angeles, romancing pretty much every leading lady on the show’s canvas during his tenure. Did he find true love? Read this recap of his life to find out!
Sea Sickness
After being injured at sea, Nick Payne discovered that his boss, Massimo Marone, was his biological dad. He soon had conflicts with Ridge (also Massimo’s son) at Marone Industries and when he fell in love with Ridge’s lady, Brooke. Nick aided her in her search for Ridge after he’d been kidnapped by Sheila Carter. Ridge was presumed dead, leading Brooke, in need of comfort, to make love to Nick.
Father’s Daze
Nick Marone was thrilled to learn that Brooke had given birth to his son on The Bold and the Beautiful, but his joy turned to sadness upon discovering that his manipulative mother, Jackie, switched the paternity tests. Nick decided to let Brooke go as they no longer shared a child together.
Finding Forrester
Next, Nick moved onto relationships with Ridge’s half-sisters, Felicia and, later, Bridget. He was all set to marry Bridget when Ridge’s “late” wife, Taylor, returned to Los Angeles after escaping from Prince Omar of Morocco. Nick supported Brooke after Ridge chose Taylor following Stephanie’s “heart attack.”
Nick’s next attempt at marrying Bridget was halted after Stephanie revealed she’d faked her condition so Ridge would give up Brooke. Nick and Bridget drifted apart because of his feelings for Brooke. It was becoming clear that Nick’s love life was as choppy as the waters upon which he’d often sail.
Dreams And Nightmares on The Bold and the Beautiful
Nick finally wed Brooke, but the Ridge thwarted the couple’s happiness when he couldn’t let go of his ex. Nick’s fling with Bridget and Stephanie’s machinations also challenged the newlyweds.
Plus, Nick had a falling out with his dad after he learned he had his mother arrested on false charges. Nick threatened to put Stephanie in jail if he wasn’t given control of Forrester because he blamed Steph for his mother’s fall off a railing in the Forrester mansion. The Forresters retaliated by creating a new company, Forrester Originals.
Always In Fashion
Nick and Taylor grew close and eventually wed. The pair decided to have a family using in-vitro fertilization. But, first, he had to get even with Stephanie. He bought Spectra Fashions, renaming it Jackie M so his mother could run it. Alas, Nick and Taylor split after it came to light that Brooke’s egg was inadvertently implanted in Taylor so she’s actually Jack’s biological mother.
Could It Be Katie?
Nick continued his pursuit of nearly every woman in Los Angeles when he started dating Katie. He stood by her after she was accidentally shot and underwent a heart transplant. Nick created a prom for Katie since she never had one and then took her sailing. Katie miscarried Nick’s child and the two split up.
He finally married Bridget, but later lost her to Owen Knight. Nick played the hero when he saved Hope from being raped by the same man who attacked Agnes Jones. He dated Agnes, briefly.
Setting Sail
After dating nearly everyone on the canvas (Nick Marone had feelings for Donna at one point and even shared a smooch with Stephanie’s sister Pam), he left town, presumably with his son, Jack.
Given his connections and past to so many, Nick’s a character that could easily return. Certainly, his son Jack could be aged and come home as BB’s latest heartthrob. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
