Susan Flannery is best known for playing no-nonsense matriarch Stephanie Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, as well as originating the role of Laura Spencer Horton on Days of Our Lives.

Who Is Susan Flannery?
Flannery was born on July 31 in Jersey City, New Jersey. She attended school in Manhattan while she was growing up, but she received her BA degree from Stephens College — which is a women’s school — in Columbia, Missouri.
New Star of The Year
After appearing in a number of television shows, Flannery got a role in the legendary film, The Towering Inferno, which starred Paul Newman and Steve McQueen. Flannery played the role of Lorrie and was so good, she won the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year in 1975.
Daytime Emmy Winner
Flannery has won four Daytime Emmy Awards over the course of her career. She won her first for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work on Days of Our Lives. She then won three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work as Stephanie on The Bold and the Beautiful.
Lights, Camera, Action!
Along with being an actress, Flannery is also a director. In fact, she performed those duties on BB, for which she was nominated twice for a Directors Guild of America Award. She also directed episodes of Guiding Light and in 2017 did an episode of The Fosters.
