The action opens with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) using a somber tone to tell Hope (Annika Noelle) the awful news. “It’s Eric. He’s dying,” she tells her shocked daughter. But she isn’t the only one in the family who is learning about the shocking diagnosis.
Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) gathers his kids, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) at the office to break it to them. “There’s something you both need to know about your grandfather,” he tells them as we see Eric (John McCook) hugging Katie (Heather Tom). Ridge continues, “Dad doesn’t want anyone to know.” Steffy immediately tells her father, “I want to see him,” as Thomas seems in denial, “This can’t be happening.”
Eric remains stoic. “I don’t want pity,” he tells Donna (Jennifer Gareis) and Katie. “It’s not the way I live my life. It’s not the way I want to end it either.” Back to Ridge and Brooke, he tells her, “I don’t want to lose my dad.” See it all for yourself in the video promo below.
