While the inevitable reveal that baby Phoebe is baby Beth on The Bold And The Beautiful may necessitate the addition of some lawyer characters to the show’s cast (if there’s a custody battle), the show is adding a doctor and he’s a daytime favorite!
According to TV Insider, BB has cast Vincent Irizarry (ex-Deimos, Days Of Our Lives; ex-David, All My Children) as Dr. Jordan Armstrong. There’s no word on what kind of doctor Jordan is, but the Emmy-winner says that he’ll be interacting with all the key players on the half-hour soap.
“I can say that [my role] has to do with the baby reveal,” the actor said, referring to the show’s front-burner tale that baby Phoebe is, in reality, baby Beth! “I’m looking forward again to working with Thorsten Kaye (Ridge; ex-Zach, All My Children).”
Fortunately, in case there’s a lot of technical doctor-talk, Irizarry’s played physicians before! In addition to Dr. Hayward on AMC, he was Dr. Scott Clark on Santa Barbara. “I have friends who are doctors I can call,” the actor says.
For now, the BB gig is recurring, but Irizarry is open for a longer stay. “There may be some other ailing people who need a doctor on the show. I love working. I love the medium. I love that stories go from week to week and month to month. It’s exciting to me.”
How will Dr. Armstrong figure into the show’s story exactly? Stay tuned to find out! The Bold And The Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
