Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless?

Soap Opera Casting For The Week of September 18, 2023

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.

General Hospital

A major star from yesteryear is returning to General Hospital. Rena Sofer is resurrecting her Daytime Emmy-winning role as Lois Cerullo in October. Sofer played Lois from 1994 to 1996 and again in 1997. After leaving GH, Sofer created another memorable daytime character,  Quinn Fuller on The Bold and the Beautiful, a role she portrayed from 2013 to 2022.

Kassie DePaiva has brought her One Life to Live alter ego, Blair Cramer, back to Port Charles. She last appeared on the soap back in March 2012. Look for the character to share scenes with Jane Elliot’s Tracy Quartermaine and Michael E. Knight’s Martin Grey this week.

Mark Engelhardt pops back in Roman Hume. The Pikeman rep will interact with Maurice Benard’s Sonny.

Adam Huss’ return as Nikolas Cassadine was short-lived. The believed dead character slipped out of town last week.

The Bold and the Beautiful

The Bold and the Beautiful’s favorite child star is back, after being MIA for months. Henry Joseph Samiri is finally back on the canvas as Douglas Forrester and set to air on Tuesday, September 19, Wednesday, September 20, Thursday, September 21, and Friday, September 22. Samiri will share scenes with his TV parents, Annika Noelle’s Hope Spencer, and Matthew Atkinson’s Thomas Forrester.

Naomi Matsuda gets more airtime as Dr. Li Finnegan this week. The actress appears on Wednesday, September 20, and Thursday, September 21 opposite her onscreen son, Tanner Novlan’s Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan.

Days of our Lives

Dick Van Dyke’s arc as Timothy Robicheaux has wrapped. The legendary film and television star made his final appearance last week.

Rachel Melvin wrapped up her return visit as Chelsea Brady. The actress was one of many former DAYS stars who returned for the soap’s farewell to Victor Kiriakis and actor John Aniston.
