Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless?
Soap Opera Casting For The Week of October 9, 2023
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.
General Hospital
It’s a blast from the past for General Hospital fans. Rena Sofer returns to the soap as Lois Cerullo on Tuesday, October 10, the role she initially began playing in 1993 and that earned her a Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1995. She’ll immediately interact with Amanda Setton’s Brook Lynn Quartermaine, Jane Elliot’s Tracy Quartermaine, Lisa LoCicero’s Olivia Quartermaine, and Wally Kurth’s Ned Quartermaine/Eddie Maine.
Bonnie Burroughs is out as Gladys Corbin. Burroughs, who was initially hired for a short-term appearance on the soap, ended up staying for four years.
Also exiting the show is Lauren Swickard, the real-life wife of Josh Swickard who plays Harrison Chase, who has wrapped up her run as Ferncliff nurse Janice. Meanwhile, Darin Toonder has completed his stint as the dastardly Dr. Montague.
It’s been a while since Bradford Anderson has been on the canvas as Damian Spinelli. Look for the character to pop up on the canvas this week.
Days of our Lives
A beloved heroine is leaving Days of our Lives. Nadia Bjorlin has wrapped up her latest run as Chloe Lane. Look for her character to exit Salem and move to New York with John-Paul Lavoisier’s Philip Kiriakis, this week. Bjorlin originated the role of Chloe in 1999. Lavoisier returned to the soap last month to take part in the show’s tribute to the late John Aniston and his character, Victor Kiriakis.
Two daytime newcomers are set to debut in familiar roles, albeit they’re all grown up now. Jamie Martin Mann premieres as Tate Black, Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) and Theresa Donovan’s son, while Ashley Puzemis debuts as Holly Jonas, Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) and the late Daniel Jonas’s (Shawn Christian) daughter, on Monday, October 9.
John Kapelos is back as Victor’s old business associate Konstantin on Thursday, October 12. He’ll have scenes with Suzanne Rogers’ Maggie Kiriakis.
Anthony Molinari has been portraying EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) henchman, Bronson. The character was hired to eliminate Ava (Tamara Braun) and Xander (Paul Telfer), last week.
The Young and the Restless
Chelsea Lawson will soon be heading back to Genoa City. Actress Melissa Claire Egan has wrapped up her maternity leave and is back on set filming at The Young and the Restless. “Soon! A few more weeks;) Already shot my first episode back,” the actress shared on Twitter/X. Chelsea and her son Connor (Judah Mackey) left town in August to live with Chelsea’s mother, Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach).
The Bold and the Beautiful
Luna’s (Lisa Yamada) mother has been cast on The Bold and the Beautiful. Romy Park playing Poppy. The actress’ credits include guest spots on The Rookie: Feds, Ghost Whisperer, and Eleventh Hour.
There’s also a new doctor on the Los Angeles scene. Justiin Davis is portraying Dr. Colin Colby. The actor debuted as Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) physician last week. Colby is best known for his role as Lester White on Boardwalk Empire. He also appeared on The Equalizer.
