With production halted at all the daytime dramas due to the coronavirus, General Hospital has found a way to stretch out broadcasts of original episodes. The soap has begun airing retro shows on Fridays. The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful will be following suit and airing classic episodes, too.
After a week out of first place in the daytime rating race, YR is back at the top of the heap. The soap placed #1 in a few coveted categories.
John Callahan (ex-Edmund, All My Children; ex-Dr. Baker, Days) passed away after a massive stroke. He was 66.
The actor’s ex-wife Eva LaRue (ex-Maria, AMC; CSI: Miami) was able to visit Callahan with their daughter, Kaya, before he died. La Rue also posted some loving words about her former husband.
Callahan’s former AMC co-stars Susan Lucci (ex-Erica) and Julia Barr (ex-Brook) paid tribute to the actor, too.
Daytime vet Patrika Darbo (ex-Nancy, DAYS; ex-Shirley, B&B) checked in to a local hospital. She took to Instagram to fill fans in on her condition and diagnosis.
Soap vets Drake Hogestyn (John, DAYS) and Vincent Irizarry (ex-Deimos, Days) gave a well-deserved shout out to two of their kids. The actors both have children who are on the front line helping to fight the coronavirus.
