Bill Spencer, played by Don Diamont, has always been a difficult man to say no to. The man puts his family first as evidenced by his demanding that Liam stay quiet about his role in accidentally killing Vinny. For his performance as a passionate dad, Soap Hub bestows Performer of the Week for BB honors on Diamont.

Once Bill found out that Liam (Scott Clifton) had brought Hope (Annika Noelle) in on what had happened on that fateful night, his job became twice as difficult. Diamont doubled down on Bill’s position – if Liam confesses, he’s throwing his life away.
He could barely contain his frustration once Hope blasted Bill for taking Liam away from the scene of the accident, turning the incident into a crime. For Bill, it’s all part of the same issue. “This is why I told you to keep your mouth shut,” Bill yelled at Liam. He maintained that he did what he did to protect his family and if he hadn’t, Liam’s butt would be in jail.
“There is no way in hell I’m going to let that happen,” an incensed Bill raged regarding Liam’s desire to confess. “I did what I did because I love my son.” Hope acknowledged that Bill may have been trying to protect Liam, but, instead, he may have sealed his fate. Hope maintained that lying wasn’t the right answer, but Bill countered that it wasn’t necessarily the wrong answer either.
A businessman at heart, Bill finally got Liam and Hope to agree to a compromise. He convinced them to take 24 hours to decide if confessing is what he truly feels he needs to do. Bill suggested he spend his time with his children as he may not be able to do that again anytime soon if he confesses and goes to jail.
Later, Bill went back to his office to unwind, hoping to have some alone time. Then, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), showed up. In a way, she is the person Bill is most vulnerable to. When Brooke told Bill that he could open up to her about anything, we saw Bill began to soften. He said he “wanted” to be happy for Liam and Hope, which confused Brooke. But that’s as far as he went.
Bill, unlike his son, wasn’t compelled to share with a woman he cares about this dark secret. The difference between Bill and Liam’s moral centers has made all the difference in this story. Kudos to Diamont for playing Bill to the hilt as a man determined to save his son. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
