Thomas Feels Worthy of Hope’s Love

In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for Tuesday, January 23, 2024, Thomas and Hope danced around the topic of Emma Barber’s death in favor of discussing their relationship.

In addition, Bill and Poppy got sneaky to avoid a potentially awkward situation. And RJ and Luna were mortified that they weren’t alone at the beach house. Now let’s dig deeper into what went down.

Hope’s Cabin

Things started off awkwardly between Hope (Annika Noelle) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) when he visited Hope at her cabin. First and foremost, he wanted to make sure she was okay after their intense conversation.

Instead, they initially talked about Eric (John McCook) and his recovery, which was a safe topic of conversation for the two. Hope didn’t want to get into their recent dredging up of Emma Barber’s (Nia Sioux) death. As for Thomas, he wanted to learn and move on from it all.

Hope felt what Thomas revealed to her was shocking, and she was still trying to process that. Plus, she had painful memories from that time, including not having her daughter. It was a part of her story so it happened, but she didn’t want to be ruled by her past. Her current goal was to focus on being a mom to Beth and Douglas and achieve happiness for herself and for all of her family.

That’s why she asked for more time. But she didn’t want him to think she stopped caring for him. Hope let Thomas know that she told her mom to stop fighting their relationship. That made Thomas extremely happy.

Thomas and Hope Reflections

Hope and Thomas thought back to the best times in their relationship, their Italian trip that changed everything for them. Thomas couldn’t help but mention the necklace, and his hope for their future. He felt that he’d done the work and he’d done what it took to make himself actually worthy of Hope and her love.

Once again, he was all about expressing his love for her. So far, Hope hasn’t responded to his words of love, hope, and the future.

Bill’s Beach House

At the beach house, Poppy (Romy Park) freaked out over her daughter being in the other room. Meanwhile, Luna (Lisa Yamada) could hear something out of the bedroom. RJ (Joshua Hoffman) tried to assure her that they had complete privacy.

Poppy and Bill (Don Diamont, who talks the benefits of home gyms here) hastily got dressed (on Poppy’s orders), continued to flirt, and readied themselves to sneak out of the beach house. In the living room, RJ and Luna got cozy on the sofa. Too bad, Luna’s radar was on point, because she saw her mom lurking outside.

Magically, Poppy and Bill came through the front door. Bill’s excuse was that he wanted to show Poppy the lay of the land before Wyatt leased it out. Bill gave RJ a friendly warning, to be good to Luna because she was special. RJ and Luna then decided to head out but not before Luna told her mom they would talk later.

Post-Awkwardness

Once RJ and Luna were gone, Poppy worried, saying she should set a better example for her daughter. So she hoped Luna had no idea she and Bill were there in the bedroom. But she’s not worried that Luna would be judgmental especially because she liked Bill. He was looking forward to seeing more of Luna since she’ll be spending more time at the beach house.

Back at Forrester, RJ and Luna recapped the awkwardness. They also talked about how mortified they were that Luna’s mom showed up while they kissed. RJ didn’t think Poppy and Bill had seen anything, however. The two joked about always getting interrupted, but right there, in that moment, they kissed. In fact, they finally kissed without any interruption.
