The Bold and the Beautiful recaps for August 29 – September 2, 2022, feature an identity concealed, mother courage, selective interpretation, and so much more.
Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) wined and dined Quinn Fuller Forrester (Rena Sofer) at Forrester Creations… Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) takes her leave of Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) and “Nicholina” — really Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) in disguise. Afterward, she fills Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang), Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) in on her father’s new lady friend… Sheila makes it clear to Deacon that he’s stuck with her for the foreseeable future.
Brooke and Hope worry when Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) fails to provide an update on when Douglas Forrester (Django Ferri) would be returned to the latter. Brooke takes it upon herself to get some concrete answers.
Brooke is less than thrilled to find Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) at the family manse. The rivals exchange words and Taylor’s wild gesticulations result in Brooke being splashed with paint from Douglas’s nearby arsenal. Brooke retaliates in kind… Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) enjoy each other’s company… Steffy and Hope debate Douglas’s proper dwelling place.
Brooke and Taylor continue their colorful dual. Ridge interrupts the proceedings and chastises the pair. Brooke flirts uproariously with Ridge while Taylor is within spying distance… Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) endeavors to put Liam’s mind at ease regarding a potential battle for custody of Douglas… Thomas referees Hope and Steffy. Afterward, Thomas encourages Hope to come to the Forrester mansion and see how happy their son is in his new surroundings.
Hope decides to take Thomas up on his suggestion; she’s put out by Douglas’s enthusiasm at having spent so much extra time with Thomas… Finn and Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) lunch at Il Giardino; it’s the first time that Finn has darkened the establishment since his shooting… Sheila dons her disguise to return Deacon’s phone to him; she’s elated to see Finn conversing with Deacon.
Much to Deacon’s chagrin, Sheila insists on remaining in the restaurant — all the better to eavesdrop on a conversation had between Finn and Bill. Finn makes the comment that he wouldn’t have been born without Sheila and Sheila in turn latches onto that as proof that she has a chance at reuniting with her son.
Liam and Brooke commiserate over Hope’s plight. Liam privately reflects on some of Thomas’s more heinous actions… Douglas waxes on about the time he’s spent with Thomas and the boy’s enthusiasm gives Hope pause. When alone with Hope, Thomas makes it clear that he’s still entertaining thoughts of them coming together as a family.
