The Bold and the Beautiful recaps for August 22 – August 26, 2022, feature a whole lot of squabbling, snapping, and sassing, and the hanging of a sensational new painting.
Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) is rattled by Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) plan to assume caring for Douglas Forrester (Django Ferri) full time. She does her utmost to convince him to leave the boy in her charge, but Thomas is resolute. Furthermore, he declares his intention to take Douglas for the night… Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) confronts Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) and makes her position quite clear: she’s not going to allow Douglas’s removal from Hope’s custody.
Though it takes some doing, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) and Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) – who’s sequestered in the bathroom and doing her best impersonation of a Southern belle – manage to convince his parole officer that everything is on the up and up. Sheila begs Deacon to let her remain his apartment; he hedges. Sheila appeals to Deacon’s better angels, then offers him her sexual services and riches beyond his wildest dreams; the idea of a cash infusion seems to tempt Deacon.
Hope remains ill at ease over Thomas’s insistence that Douglas spend the night with him at the Forrester abode. Thomas fills Douglas in on his plans and gets the boy on side. Hope finally agrees to the arrangement – so long as it’s understood that it is to be an overnight stay only… Brooke accuses Taylor of using the issue of Douglas’s custody to drive a wedge between her and Ridge. She makes it clear that her rival’s machinations will be for naught… Deacon balks at Sheila’s request for sanctuary – at first; he is soon persuaded.
Thomas curtly informs Hope that Douglas will be remaining at the Forrester manse so that he may enjoy an impromptu celebration hosted by Eric… Finn is officially welcomed back to the Forrester fold… Deacon tries and fails to convince Sheila to cut her losses and hightail it out of L.A. Sheila cautions Deacon against ratting her out to the authorities; if she goes down, she’s going to ensure that he goes down as well.
Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) joins the Forrester family revelry… Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) debuts the newest portrait to hang over the mantlepiece; the assemblage is pleased to see that Eric Forrester (John McCook) is the artist’s subject.
Brooke tries to be gracious in light of being excluded from the Forrester family fete… With Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) otherwise engaged, Hope decides to pay Deacon a visit. She’s surprised to find a person of the female persuasion flittering around in his apartment… Donna phones Brooke and warns her that Taylor is on the prowl.
Liam and Brooke commiserate with one another… Ridge seeks Deacon out and tells him to steer clear of Brooke… Liam places a call to Deacon and asks to speak to Hope; Deacon is alarmed to hear that his daughter is at his apartment… Hope makes “Nicholina’s” acquaintance. She’s sure that she’s seen Deacon’s new lady friend somewhere before….
