The Bold and the Beautiful recaps for April 18 – April 22, 2022, feature a regression that spits in the eye of Sinn fans, and proves that the best drama this soap can come up with is yet another round of Steffy Forrester v Hope Logan Spencer for the love of Liam Spencer.
Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) relieve their harrowing experience for Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) benefit… Ridge does his best to dissuade Taylor of the notion that Sheila has changed for the better… Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) tracks Sheila down to offer his condolences and check on her; she confesses her suicide bid.
Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) insists to a distraught Paris Buckingham (Diamond White) that they have no future together. Furthermore, he implores her to accept Zende Forrester’s (Delon de Metz) imminent proposal. Quinn Fuller Forrester (Rena Sofer) overhears the couples parting of the ways.
Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) arrives at the hospital and gets filled in on the latest happenings, from Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) awakening to her inability to recall what transpired the night of her and Finn’s shooting… Sheila recounts how she and Taylor saved managed to save each other from certain death.
Quinn teases Carter for bedding Paris. In so many words, Carter admits that Paris was a substitute for the woman that he truly wanted but couldn’t have – Quinn… Sheila eavesdropped on Taylor and Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) discussing Steffy’s plight and their fear that she’ll never regain her lost memories… Liam enters Steffy’s room, and she greets her, “sweet husband.”
Brooke inquires as to how Hope (Annika Noelle) is handling Liam’s devotion to Steffy. Hope assures her mother that she’s fine with the attention Liam is heaping… Liam pacifies Steffy, while he, Ridge, and Bridget ponder the ramifications of Steffy’s amnesia. The situation is explained to the wider assemblage. Brooke is aghast when no one else, Bridget included, agrees that Steffy should be set straight. Liam agrees to play into Steffy’s fantasy.
Quinn and Carter both cop to missing the other. Quinn confides that Eric has taken to sleeping in the guest house rather than their marital bed; Carter sympathizes. The duo agree that they should have reestablished their friendship sooner.
Steffy demands that Liam bring Kelly to her; he acquiesces. Steffy is noticeably taken aback by her daughter’s maturity in reference to how she remembers her, but she waves off the concern.
Brooke puts forth the argument that Steffy shouldn’t be sheltered from reality but is summarily shot down by Ridge and Taylor. Taylor ponders whether or not Steffy has been repressing her true feelings for Liam lo these many years. Brooke accuses Taylor of using Steffy’s condition to drive a wedge between Liam and Hope.
Ridge tells Sheila he hopes that she gets the help she needs — but not from Taylor. Deputy Chief Bradley Baker (Dan Martin) arrives to interview Steffy but finds himself hamstrung due to an inability to bring up Finn’s name. During the Q&A session, Steffy begins to have hazy flashbacks to the night in question… Taylor and Brooke spar over the former’s demand that the group kowtow to Steffy and her idea of the present.
