Liam Tries To Pokes Holes In Hope’s Faith In Thomas

In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for Thursday, January 11, 2024, Liam found out about Hope and Thomas’s engagement. He also tried to make sure she knew Xander’s accusations could be true.

Bold and the Beautiful Recap Highlights

In addition, Steffy told Finn she’d talk to Thomas about Xander’s claims. Finn explained his actions to his mom. Thomas and Hope agreed to meet up at Hope’s cabin later for some “collaborating.” And Liam showed up at Hope’s door. Now let’s dig deep into the details of what went down.

Concerns and ‘Collaborations’

Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) agreed to talk to Thomas (Matthew Atkinson who addresses Thomas’s role here) about that night. She ultimately wished Finn (Tanner Novlan) would believe Thomas’s version of events. For his part, Finn wanted his wife to know he was not trying to make trouble for Thomas but he wanted the truth. That Thomas was holding something back, and maybe he’d open up to her.

As for Thomas, he reluctantly interrupted his make-out session with Hope (Annika Noelle) because he needed to actually do work. As a result, Hope suggested more… collaboration…later on at her cabin. Thomas was down with that, and with her seeing the good inside of him.

After Steffy left, Li (Naomi Matsuda) and Finn talked about the Thomas situation. Finn couldn’t brush away any of his concerns even if he wanted to. When Finn brought up being worried about Hope, Li didn’t understand. Why would he even think about Hope and not his wife? She advised against that line of thinking, especially with the history between Hope and Steffy being so toxic.

Finn claimed he wanted to tell Steffy she was right, that Thomas changed. Unfortunately, he couldn’t. He’ll always be weary of Thomas until proven otherwise.

Cabin Conversation Between Exes

Meanwhile, at Hope’s cabin, Liam (Scott Clifton) didn’t knock — he just walked right in like he owned the place. And he immediately brought up Thomas. Hope ended up telling him about Xander’s return to which Liam immediately made the connection that Xander’s presence meant bad things for Thomas.

Liam felt it wasn’t shocking to think somebody suspected Thomas of murder. Hope insisted that the Thomas back in those days was the old one. That has nothing to do with the Thomas of today. All of a sudden, Liam spotted the engagement ring on Hope’s necklace.

Hope didn’t feel she needed to confide in Liam what the ring meant. Yet, he was practically gleeful that the ring on her necklace meant she couldn’t say yes to Thomas. All Liam hoped for was that Hope would eventually get out of this relationship with Thomas.

Liam claimed he would never judge Hope. But she battled back saying Thomas wasn’t the only one to hurt her. However, she didn’t go any further because she and Liam had both moved on. She defended Thomas and claimed he wasn’t capable of murder. Hope chalked up Xander’s return to having an axe to grind. Liam wondered did that mean Thomas was a victim? That’s not what Hope said she was saying.

That dark chapter that everybody keeps bringing up? She wanted to move past it. Liam countered saying that as long as she was involved with Thomas, that was never going to happen. Back then, he wanted them to suffer for months and if he was capable of that, he was capable of anything, even murder.

Thomas’s Version…So Far

Steffy told Thomas about Xander making a return appearance with Finn. That he, once again, cried murder when it came to Thomas. Steffy expressed support for her brother. She didn’t understand why Finn kept pointing the blame at Thomas.

But he wanted her to ask him one more time if he knew anything about Emma’s (Nia Sioux) death. These Xander accusations — she wanted to know if any of them were true. To which Thomas replied he was right about one thing.

That is, Thomas was a person of interest, but he was cleared. He admitted that he should have been a suspect. He didn’t intentionally kill Emma. No matter what was going on, it was a senseless car accident. Steffy didn’t want to stop there. The whole truth needed to come out.
