The Bold and the Beautiful recap for Thursday, December 28, 2023, featured a dramatic return when Xander Avant met with Finn as the doctor’s next patient. Simultaneously, Thomas had an important question for Hope.
In addition, Thomas continued to defend his relationship with Hope to Steffy. Ridge wanted — no needed — to know Hope’s intentions for his son. And Finn’s connection to Steffy caused Xander to reveal his connection to the Forresters. Let’s dig deeper into the details of what went down.
Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) continued their heated conversation about his relationship with Hope (Annika Noelle). While Steffy told Thomas to cool down, Finn (Tanner Novlan) couldn’t handle how his brother-in-law talked to his wife and said as much. When the siblings were alone, Thomas knew he couldn’t count on Steffy’s support. He simply asked her not to actively undermine what he had going on with Hope. Even though Steffy acknowledged her brother has changed, she doesn’t want him hurt or regressing to his shadier days.
In the other office, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) pressured Hope about her intentions with his son. He doesn’t want a repeat of Thomas’s history of darkness and obsession. Admittedly, Hope couldn’t do more than skirt around an answer. What she did know was she couldn’t give her boss any guarantees as to what the future holds for her and Thomas.
At the hospital, Finn greeted a new patient of his, who turned out to know the Forrester family. Not only was Xander Avant (Adain Bradley, refresh your memory on this character here) well aware of who Steffy was, he told Finn he used to intern at Forrester. He knew the entire family.
The conversation quickly turned darker when Xander brought up Thomas. Since Finn wasn’t actually feeling his brother-in-law right now, his ears perked up instantly. Xander told him that Thomas wasn’t the guy Finn thinks he is. He brought up a blast from his and the Forrester’s past.
Through flashbacks, Xander recalled keeping the secret of Baby Beth along with his fellow intern, Emma Barber (Nia Sioux). He even recalled Ridge firing both him and Zoe (Kiara Barnes) because of their crimes against the Forrester family. Oh and one more thing. Xander believed Thomas murdered Emma.
Finally, Hope and Thomas were alone and were comparing notes on being lectured all the live long day about their relationship. They even joked about what everyone was saying about their dynamic — how they’re all confused. But they knew it made sense to them. Thomas said all the right things about Hope’s presence making him a better man, better father, someone that deserved love.
He reiterated how he’s a one-woman man and that woman is Hope. That Douglas felt the exact same way. Things escalated quickly when he asked Hope to marry him, and took out a ring and everything. So even though Hope didn’t want to cause tension within Thomas’s family, she may not have a choice depending on how she answers his question. What will Hope do?
