Carter Walton Sends Hope And Thomas Away…Alone

On today’s The Bold and the Beautiful episode, Carter Walton conscripted the Hope For The Future team [minus Zende because…why include him?] for a schmoozing mission.

In addition, Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) attempts at intimacy were interrupted time and time again by an exasperated Liam (Scott Clifton). Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.

Carter Walton Sends Hope And Thomas On Their Merry Way

Word had reached Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) that some of the most influential buyers in the fashion world — the kind that could make or break a line — had flocked to San Francisco and were requesting a face-to-face with Hope (Annika Noelle) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) that very day.

The duo was game — and after all, it would just be a quick flight there and back. But then there was the Liam of it all. And no sooner had Thomas guessed that Liam wouldn’t be too thrilled by the idea than Liam was in the doorway wondering what the “it” was that he wouldn’t be too pleased about.

Hope explained the situation, but only in broad strokes, so Liam couldn’t understand what there wasn’t to like. Then, slowly but surely, it dawned on him that Thomas would be accompanying Hope.

Fearful of an eruption, Thomas took his leave of the couple, and Hope set about convincing Liam that this trip was a necessity and that she’d be back in no time flat. Also, he had nothing to worry about where Thomas was concerned.

Liam gave his okay for the trip [as if Hope would have canceled if he didn’t], and Hope thanked him for his support and the way he looked out for her and swore that she didn’t take any of that for granted. Also, he’s the one and only man that she’s committed to.

Across the hall, Steffy and Finn, who’d already tried and failed to get some stealth smooching in — thanks Liam! — breathed a sigh of relief as the coast was finally clear…or so they thought.

No sooner had Steffy proffered that locking the door was unnecessary because her employees knew better than to just burst on in than Thomas burst in and took them to task for not locking the door.

Rather than immediately throw Thomas out so they could take advantage of the rare alone time allotted them, Steffy and Finn stood around and chatted with him about his impending trip with Hope — which they’d heard about courtesy of Carter.

Bold and the Beautiful Recap: Up, Up, And Away

Sometime later, Hope and Thomas settled onto the couch in the company’s private jet and set about strategizing for their impending meeting.

Thomas paused the business talk to address something, namely, her conversation with Liam. How did that go? Because if there’s one thing that he doesn’t want, it’s for their working together, or being together at all, to cause issues in her marriage.

Hope thanked Thomas for his concern and reiterated her belief that he was a changed man. The topic then turned to how different Hope was from her mother [slut shaming by another name] and how Thomas appreciated that.

Opposite this, Liam again burst in on Steffy and Finn wrapped up in each other’s arms, and again the couple took time out of their necking schedule to inquire as to Liam’s opinion on Hope and Thomas’s trip. Is he okay with it?

Liam’s succinct response? “With my wife’s formerly obsessed lead designer and her taking a little trippy trip? …Obviously, I’m not pleased with it. No.”

But he understands what this meeting could mean for Hope’s line. When Steffy piped up that a lot of the line’s success was owed to Thomas, Liam snapped, “Why does everybody think it’s Thomas’s talent I’m doubting? His talent is not the problem. His personality is. And if any of his issues happen to crop up again given the right opportunity, like, say, a cozy little business trip. We’re going to have an issue.”

But, again, he has absolute faith in his wife. Hope is “honest, genuine, and forthright,” and she loves him. That’s all that matters. [Cut to Steffy’s uneasy visage.]
