Brooke Logan tried her best.
On today’s The Bold and the Beautiful episode, Brooke Logan played historian and tour guide, but failed in to play Cupid.
In addition, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) succeeded where his former missus failed, and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) basked in some well-deserved praise. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Having taken in the majesty of the Colosseum — Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) favorite place in all of Rome — Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) sweet talked her ex into letting her lead the way…not when it comes to the two of them [not that she wouldn’t love that] but in the literal sense.
One brisk walk later, Brooke had led Ridge to…a cannon. But not just any cannon. This was a very important cannon. This was the Il Cannone del Giancolo, a cannon that has been taken out and fired at the same time every single day since 1842 — barring the years stretching the Second World War.

After Ridge good-naturedly poked fun at his personal history buff and escort, talk turned to their estrangement. Ridge admitted that the love he had for Brooke would never, ever die, then opined that perhaps it would behoove them to stay apart.
After all, if they have to work this hard at making their relationship work, maybe it’s not worth it. Brooke groused at Ridge’s stance and appealed for a sign, any sign. Seconds later, the cannon fired. How’s that for a sign?
Elsewhere, his and Hope’s (Annika Noelle) woodland abode to be exact, an anxious Liam (Scott Clifton) found himself at his wit’s end. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t find a flight bound for Rome. Maybe he should just forgo joining his wife in the City of Eternal Love.
But wait! Hope [pun very much intended] appeared in the form of Bill (Don Diamont) who was more than happy for Liam to join him on his personal jet and to see to it that Liam made it to his wife’s side in time for her marquee moment. Liam was more than grateful for the assist, and even more so that Bill joined him in a round of “Isn’t Thomas Just The Worst?”
Back in Rome, an anxious Hope bid Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) read the speech she’d been toiling over for some weeks now. It was perfect, a triumph, a speech that would surely appeal to the masses. Thomas couldn’t have been prouder. Hope, in turn, sang Thomas’s praises.
For a split second, Thomas gave a thought to his son. Enter Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Carter. Steffy looked nauseated by the sight and sounds of Thomas and Hope complimenting one another and the air in the room grew thick with tension.
Soon the quad decamped for a balcony overlooking the Piazza Navona Stadio Di Domiziano, “home of the magnificent statue of the Four Rivers, created by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, one of the greatest baroque artists of his time.” Also, it’s where the Hope For The Future preview will take place.
Steffy, Hope, and Thomas were in awe by the sight, and after taking it all in, they heaped copious amounts of praise onto Carter. What would they do without him?
