Li Finnegan told Finn to stay far, far away from Sheila.
In the Bold and the Beautiful recap for July 27, 2023, Finn’s adoptive mother warned him against associating with the woman who birthed him. Unfortunately, he didn’t seem willing to listen to sound reasoning.
In addition, Liam mansplained Steffy’s predicament, and Hope (Annika Noelle) filled her once and future stepfather on recent goings on. To say Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) didn’t approve would be an understatement. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Having been apprised of the verdict in Sheila’s (Kimberlin Brown) most recent hearing, Li (Naomi Matsuda) flipped her (metaphorical) lid. How could the judge have set that villain free? Now Sheila, a career serial criminal, is out walking the streets able to strike at any moment. And, the very idea that she was somehow the victim of a conspiracy? Ha!
Li then implored Finn (Tanner Novlan) to say that he’d testify to the fact that Sheila shot him and Steffy. Surely that’ll be enough to put her behind bars. Unfortunately, seeing as how the D.A. already dropped the charges — and no new evidence has come to light — Sheila’s going to skate on that as well.

Li was furious. And concerned. Mightily concerned. So concerned that she issued Finn a warning: he’d better be on guard and ready to protect Steffy and his kids. Also, he’d better never let Sheila back into his life. Ever.
Finn said what he needed to say to keep the peace, even going as far as to grant his mother that, much like Steffy, he had a “strong reaction” to the news of Sheila’s release. Of course, he neglected to mention the hug. Actually, make that hugs, as in more than one.
Meanwhile, Liam (Scott Clifton) implored Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) to listen to him. He knows of what he speaks. Not only did he witness Finn and Sheila “physically embracing each other,” he caught the whole thing on video.
Even with the evidence in front of her, Steffy balked at the very idea that Finn had been sucked into Sheila’s web of lies. There is surely an explanation. And a good explanation at that. Still, Liam persisted. He argued that at this point Steffy couldn’t know for absolute certainty that she can trust Finn to keep her and the children safe.
Liam then insisted that Steffy knew what she had to do…and in case she didn’t, he explained that she had to confront Finn and demand that he supply her with a good explanation. He hopes there’s one too. But he’s not sure there will be.
Speaking of Sheila and good explanations, the She-Devil herself explained to Deacon (Sean Kanan) that she was a free woman. The judge had dropped all the charges against her and she had nothing to answer for. She can’t believe her luck…and she can’t help but hold out for even more, namely that she’ll one day have a real relationship with her son and grandson. Crazier things have happened.
At Forrester Creations, after some gentle prodding from Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), Hope told Ridge about her and Liam signing divorce papers. Hope granted that this might all seem sudden, but she was convinced that it was the right thing to do.
Cutting to the chase, Ridge demanded to know if Hope’s decision had anything to do with her sleeping with Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). Also, how does she feel about Thomas now?
Hope admitted to having feelings for Thomas. They’re co-parents and workmates and possibly something more. The best she could offer by way of explanation was that the two of them were “on a path that’s just getting started.” But what does that mean, queried Ridge. It means, they share a connection and intend to explore it.
Hope then pointedly added that she appreciated Thomas being a one-woman man who always made his feelings for her clear…unlike Liam who had divided loyalties…something Ridge should be familiar with. (Hope knows she sure is.)
