In the Bold and the Beautiful recap for August 4, 2023, Li Finnegan raced to her son’s side…and told him that she was squarely #TeamSteffy.
In addition, Liam (Scott Clifton) was filled in on Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) estrangement from her hubby, and Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) pondered her life’s mission in the midst of passion. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Try as he might to convince Steffy not to take the children and leave him — and he tried mightily — Finn (Tanner Novlan) couldn’t convince her to stay put, nor could he convince her that he was perfectly capable of keeping them safe and secure.
Finn also failed at convincing Steffy that their main issue wasn’t his sudden, inexplicable desire to connect with Sheila, but rather LIAM actively working to erode their marriage. No, as Steffy saw it, Liam was merely looking out for her and the children’s best interests.

Once Steffy had taken her leave, Finn called Mama Li (Naomi Matsuda) and begged her to rush right over. Finn blubbered into her arms and recalled Kelly’s near-death experience. Li was seriously put out to hear that Finn had turned his back on a child at the beach, but even more so to hear that it was SHEILA who came to the little girl’s rescue.
And then, to hear Finn relay that he’d told Steffy to give Sheila some slack in the wake of her selfless deed — blasphemy! Li demanded to know if Finn was now seeing Sheila in a different light. Was she no longer the crazy lunatic who tried to kill Finn, Steffy, and Li to boot? Also, then there was the hug of it all. To quote Li, “No wonder [Steffy] left you!”
Having spent the past few hours flashing back to better days with his ex — Steffy, not Hope (Annika Noelle) — Liam received a message requesting he meet her at the Forrester mansion.
Though he tried to make it like the opposite was true, Liam wasn’t upset to hear that Steffy had walked out on Finn. What he was chagrined to learn was that Kelly nearly drowned on Finn’s watch and that it was Sheila who saved the girl’s life. That was infuriating…and proof positive that it was up to Liam and Liam alone to protect Steffy and her brood.
At her and Deacon’s (Sean Kanan) love nest, Sheila listened as her lover cautioned her against getting too comfortable and getting too wrapped up in her own fantasies. Surely she doesn’t think that she can wash away a multitude of sins with one cleansing act in the ocean. But that’s exactly what Sheila thinks.
