In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for November 7, 2023, Ridge threw a big snit when things didn’t go his way. Turns out he can’t bully Eric’s body into remaining fit and healthy.
In addition, Liam bemoaned Steffy making her own choices, while Eric continued to be none the wiser to the goings on around him. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) was fit to be tied. How could Donna (Jennifer Gareis) not tell him that his father was dying? Her reply? She was honoring Eric’s (John McCook) wishes. He didn’t want anyone to know, and he didn’t want any pity for his circumstances.
Ridge argued that this wasn’t about pity, but rather about him trying to find answers that would help his dad. He doesn’t accept the diagnosis. It’s not good enough. He wants to talk about medications, treatments, and second and third opinions, not the death sentence that’s been imposed.

Ridge insisted on swinging by Dr. Colby’s (Justiin Davis) office for a chit-chat and immediately stepped in it when he was overheard objecting to not speaking to someone who was ranked the best in the field.
While Dr Colby attempted to walk Ridge through Eric’s plight (HIPPA what?), Ridge, in turn, demanded that something be done. Put his dad in a clinical trial, on some kind of medication, Hell, call in another specialist or three.
Dr. Colby explained that he’d exhausted all such efforts. He called every contact and consulted every peer. He can set up whatever Ridge wants him to, but at this point, they’ve done all they can. The doc’s best advice? Don’t waste the time that the family can spend together. Be there for Eric, love him, and take his cues.
Meanwhile, Bill (Don Diamont) joined Liam (Scott Clifton) at Il Giardino, Trattoria Rustica, and listened as his son groused about Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) return to L.A. And it’s not that he wasn’t pleased by the idea that she’s back in town, it’s that he’s displeased that she’s back with Finn (Tanner Novlan). Doesn’t she realize the danger that puts her in? Why won’t she come back to him? Doesn’t she know that he can give her a better and safer life than her husband?
Opposite, Finn and Steffy and their brood enjoyed some welcome takeaway. Chinese food, yum. Kelly and Steffy’s favorite. Despite the little hiccup that was learning Kelly clued Liam in on their return, the couple were soon agreeing on how much they missed one another, how they wouldn’t let Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) interfere in their lives ever again, and retiring to their bedroom for some *ahem* horizontal reconciliation.
Over at Forrester Creations, Eric took some time off coughing to congratulate RJ (Joshua Hoffman) on their big win. Can he believe that they beat Ridge? No, no he cannot. Good thing Ridge loves Eric so much and would do anything for him, right?
Grandfather and grandson were soon joined by Ridge, and Eric made three things perfectly clear. He loves his son and is more than proud of him, and under no circumstances is ANYONE to plop down in his chair. Not ever! Also, has everyone seen his lovely stapler? It’s so lovely and meaningful.
