In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for October 18, 2023, petulant Ridge threw a fit over his dad wanting to reclaim the top spot at Forrester Creations. That’s his! All his. And Steffy’s. But mostly his!
In addition, Eric made his intentions clear, Li filled Finn in on a dark chapter in their family’s history, and Luna played sounding board for RJ. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
At FC, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) poured over his latest design while Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) cooed beside him. Though put out by Eric’s (John McCook) demand for a runway showdown, Ridge doubled down on his determination to best the master.
Next came complaints over Eric naming his collection his “finale.” What’s that about? His dad has years and years left in him and enough ideas for loads more shows. No, this was all about pulling out a win so he could return to his former role as boss — and Ridge wasn’t having that.

If Eric wants to come in and give creative input, that’s perfect. But he’s running the show now (supposedly alongside Steffy, but he almost forgot that part). That’s how Eric said he wanted it, and that’s how it’s going to stay. As for Eric, “he needs to go live his life.” Presumably, far and away from FC.
Speaking of Eric, he took great exception to his doctor, accusing him of not taking his condition seriously. Of course, he’s taking it seriously. In fact, he’s taking it very seriously.
But the one thing that Eric’s not prepared to do is cease designing. This line he’s toiling over is the culmination of his life’s work, his grand finale. He has to finish it. He has to prove himself to himself and Ridge and all the other naysayers. And after he’s done that, he’s reclaiming what’s his. No illness is going to stop him from doing that.
Despite herself, Donna (Jennifer Gareis) could but embrace her “Honey Bear” and reiterate that she was behind him 100%. All the way. Until the end. The very bitter end.
Meanwhile, Li (Naomi Matsuda) spelled out for Finn (Tanner Novlan) exactly what she had against Penelope (Don’t Call Her Poppy!) and Luna (Lisa Yamada). Her sister’s affair with the chief surgeon at Li’s old stomping grounds resulted in a forced transfer. Her life, and her family’s life, was turned upside down, and she doesn’t intend to let her sister and niece pull the same stunt all these years later. No way. She forbids it!
As for Luna, she provided RJ (Joshua Hoffman) with some nourishment — in the form of a honeydew smoothie — and a comforting embrace when the thought of keeping Eric’s secret began to overwhelm him.
