B&B Recap: Ridge FINALLY Tells Zende the Truth

In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for December 4, 2023, Ridge finally tells Zende the truth about Eric’s health.

In addition, Eric refuses to go to the hospital, and Hope comforts Brooke after learning of Eric’s wishes. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.

Ridge Rants

Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) continued to rant to Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and, later, Hope (Annika Noelle) about the party Eric wanted to throw for himself. He feels his dad needs to go to the hospital so they can discover a way to save him and get him to stick around longer. But, no such luck. Eric (John McCook) simply wants him to dress up in a monkey suit and celebrate. Ridge was not in the mood to celebrate. He wanted to take care of his dad and spend time with him. 

Little does he know, Eric’s in trouble at home. He collapsed, and Donna (Jennifer Gareis) was freaking out over what to do. Thankfully, he started to wake up and was breathing with a little help of an oxygen tank. Donna suggested finally calling 911, but Eric refused to go to the hospital. In fact, he only wanted to talk about the party because, frankly, he feels he doesn’t have enough time left, so this celebration of his life needs to happen sooner rather than later.

Hope can’t believe Eric wants to throw a party. When she and Brooke were alone, Brooke told her it was important to Eric, so it needed to be important to them. Hope brought up the two children Brooke shares with Eric and asked whether her mom can handle losing Eric. Brooke knows she needs to be strong. This may be the last thing Eric asks of them, so they need to go along with what he wants.

Zende Learns The Truth

Zende (Delon de Metz) was still on RJ’s (Joshua Hoffman) case. He thinks RJ has a lot to learn about office etiquette as well as designing since he’s never attended design school. RJ admitted he learned a lot from his grandad. An unrelenting Zende wanted him to pay his dues. He was upset they rolled out the red carpet for him because he’s the golden child of Brooke and Ridge.

What’s more, he simply cannot comprehend why Eric chose RJ to help him with his couture designs. RJ said he was shocked to be chosen. When Ridge entered the room, he confessed that there was one reason why RJ was the one to work with his grandad. And now, maybe he should tell Zende, too.

Ridge admitted he should have told him a long time ago. He asked him if he noticed anything going on with Eric the last few months. Zende noticed how focused and determined Eric’s been, and that culminated in Eric winning the fashion showdown. RJ blurted out that Eric didn’t win. And Ridge followed up that whopper of a news bulletin with the fact that Eric’s dying. Zende finally knows the truth! As a result, Zende started to process the news. He began crying and talking about what Eric meant to him. Ultimately, Ridge was able to comfort Zende, but will this news change how Zende feels about RJ?
