In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for December 1, 2023, Ridge blabs to Carter about Eric’s condition. Meanwhile, said condition takes a startling turn for the worse.
Bold and the Beautiful Recap Highlights
In addition, Eric’s loved ones resolved to slap on a smile and do exactly what he asked of them. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
All Together Now
Having received paperwork from Eric (John McCook) designating Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) the executor of his will and giving him power of attorney, Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) cornered his buddy and demanded an explanation. Ridge took a beat, then betrayed his dad’s confidence. Because Carter is “family.”
A bummed Carter declared that was too bad, then wondered how Ridge was doing. How is Eric’s dying affecting him. Must be so tough. Ridge agreed that it was tough…made all the more so by Eric’s desire not to let on that he’s dying. Carter then gave some lip service to his boss. Man, Eric was really good to him. Caring, kind, and supportive — even when he didn’t deserve it.

Meanwhile, Eric doubled down on his demand to throw an epic celebration for his friends and family. Not only was it a good idea, it was a GREAT idea. RJ (Joshua Hoffman) took it upon himself to inform his family, who threw an indignant fit.
Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) was the first to come around, followed quickly by Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). The group poured into Eric’s office, where he made a big speech about family and the next generation and announced plans for the gathering. They just smiled and pretended to be joyful. Nobody else but Eric could get them to do something so ridiculous.
Lights Out
Finally tired enough to leave his desk for the day, Eric returned home with Donna (Jennifer Gareis) and ruminated on his past marriages. Stephanie had been a good mother and partner, but Hell to live with. He’d adored his time with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), but her love for Ridge won out in the end. And there were, of course, other women. But then there was Donna. Oh, how Eric loves Donna. And trusts her.
In fact, Eric trusted Donna enough to admit to her that he was scared. Scared of the end. Scared of dying. As the tears flowed down his cheek, Eric suddenly felt weak and had to be helped to the sofa. Hoping to make herself useful, Donna headed to get Eric some water, meaning that she wasn’t there to catch her lover when he collapsed into a heap on the living room floor.
