Ridge Forrester put his foot down with Katie.
In the Bold and the Beautiful recap for Wednesday, July 12, 2023, Thomas and Hope [their smooch in particular] were the topic of conversation at Forrester Creations…and boy did their superiors have some thoughts.
In addition, RJ (Joshua Hoffman) continued to plead Hope’s case to Liam (Scott Clifton), why Hope wondered what exactly she’s doing with her life. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
At Forrester Creations, Katie (Heather Tom), Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor), and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) delighted in the sales numbers for the latest Hope For The Future line…and bemoaned the kiss that Hope and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) shared.
Katie groused that Hope (Annika Noelle) needed to get her priorities — namely her husband and family — straight, then [rather hypocritically] trashed the very idea of co-workers getting together.
Katie next wondered how it was that neither Ridge nor Carter noticed anything transpiring between Hope and Thomas while they were all in Rome, then she made a crack about Ridge’s son not having the best of track records.

Ridge insisted that his son had worked to turn his life around and that he hadn’t backslid into old bad ways. No, the issue this time around was Hope. She’s the one that’s to blame.
Carter granted that Thomas had worked very, very hard to better himself and that he’d come into his own as of late. Ridge thanked his good buddy. Yes, Thomas has come a very long way. Not an easy thing to do. He’s a good son and a good father. He shows up on time. His work is impeccable. Right? Right, agreed Katie.
Also, in agreement? Hope made an impulsive mistake, and now it’s up to Liam to forgive her and keep their marriage from falling apart [which is proving to be easier said than done].
Meanwhile, at Spencer Publications, RJ continued to pressure Liam to just forgive Hope’s indiscretion. Fat chance. He’d been persistent. He’d warned Hope SO many times before — but she ignored him.
Does Liam actually want a divorce from Hope? Of course not. What he wants is his life back. He wants the last several months to have never happened. He wants the Hope that he knew back. Unfortunately, that’s not in the cards. Also, not in the cards: Liam walking back his request for a divorce.
At Thomas’s abode, Hope tried to make sense of what was happening to her. The best she could muster was that Thomas had unleased something inside of her, something strong and powerful. Maybe this was what Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) was talking about for all those years; all that follow-your-heart business.
Then again, what does Hope know? Well, she knows kissing Thomas was wrong. She knows that going to bed with him was wrong. She knows that it was wrong to fantasize about Thomas so. However, she doesn’t much care. She might be losing her mind, but she just can’t stop wanting Thomas. The rub? Would he mind keeping this between them? Of course, he wouldn’t.
