In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for August 24, 2023, Eric and Ridge have a fundamental disagreement about the former’s role in the company that he created.
Bold and the Beautiful Recap Highlights
In addition, Liam proved what an absolute garbage human being he is, and Finn made yet another plea to his wife to take him back. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
B&B Recap: Out With The Old
Despite clearly sitting at his own desk, in his own office, Eric (John McCook) had to explain exactly what he was doing to a curious Ridge (Thorsten Kaye). After getting that out of the way, Eric asked Ridge why he’s been avoiding him.
Ridge denied the charge, but Eric persisted in having his say — whether or not Ridge wanted to hear it. Though he feels that many at the company — Ridge especially — no longer see him as a vital component, Eric intends to prove them wrong by designing the most sophisticated and elegant couture collection ever designed.

Ridge, for his part, isn’t too interested in either joining Eric in his endeavor or encouraging him to achieve his goal. Instead, he suggests the old man take up golf or improve his pickleball skills.
Eric took great exception to Ridge’s taking exception and threw a mighty hissy fit in the midst of searching desperately for his favorite stapler. Ridge, for his part, stood and took the abuse before admitting that the stapler had probably been thrown out years ago. To that Eric pointedly wondered if Ridge intended to throw him out as well.
The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: Parting Is Such Sorrow
Meanwhile, Hope (Annika Noelle) asked Liam (Scott Clifton) to tell her whether or not it was too late for them to try and work on their marriage. Also, she was really sorry for what she did with Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). (And by “what she did,” we mean kissing him in Rome. As if she’d come clean about the multiple bouts of lovemaking.)
Before answering, Liam had a question of his own. Did Hope really feel that Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was a threat to their relationship during “the good years,” when he was completely devoted to her and Beth? Hope wasn’t sure. And that was a problem for Liam.
Equally disconcerting was Liam’s declaration that he’d never be able to forgive and forget Hope turning to Thomas. Thomas, of all people. So, with nothing more to say, Hope and Liam parted ways. Liam’s final gift to Hope? A peck on the forehead.
B&B Recap: Commitmentphobe
At the Forrester mansion, Finn (Tanner Novlan) implored Steffy to return home to him, or, barring that, let him move in with her and the kids — and Eric and Donna (Jennifer Gareis). But Steffy wasn’t prepared to commit to anything so drastic. She was still far too concerned about the threat that Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) posed. And then there was still #Huggate. How is she ever supposed to get over that? Finn’s….feelings have really got them all in a world of hurt.
