In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for August 11, 2023, Liam seemingly erases everything he ever shared with Hope and purports that he only truly loved Steffy (despite what we saw play out onscreen).
In addition, Hope (Annika Noelle) shrugged her shoulders at all the recent upheavals, and Finn (Tanner Novlan) made a heartfelt plea to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
At Spencer Publications, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) asked Liam (Scott Clifton) to be honest with him. What are his feelings for Steffy? Does Liam still love her? Liam admitted he does, and said he’d told her that. And he’d told Finn.
Liam then waxed lyrical about his and Steffy’s courtship. How she’d changed his life, how she’d literally made him the man he is today, and how they’d practically grown up together. He smiled wistfully as he declared that Steffy taught him half the fun of life is “seeing where you land.”

When the two of them were together, it was almost as though they could see the life that they wanted in each other. How intoxicating that was. How desperately in love they had been — to the point that nothing else or no one else mattered.
But then they learned hard truths. They learned what it was like to hurt the one you love the most and what it’s like to be hurt by the one you love the most. They made so many mistakes…and Liam’s biggest mistake was walking away and not trusting in the foundation that their love had been built on.
In Steffy, he’d had a strong, smart, beautiful partner, and she’d wanted him and only him. And he walked away. And even though Liam wasn’t sure how the story ends, he knew that there was not a chapter left where he makes that mistake again…if Steffy gave him another chance. Ridge’s response? “Okay.”
Meanwhile, at Forrester Creations, RJ (Joshua Hoffman) did his best to convince Hope to fight for her marriage to Liam. Sure, the divorce papers might be signed, but it wasn’t too late. Hope disagreed.
This wasn’t just about what happened between her and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). It was also about Liam’s unwillingness to fight for their romance. Also, it was about the specter that is Steffy hanging over what she and Liam shared. And besides, now that Steffy had left Finn, there was no chance that Liam wouldn’t be sniffing around his ex.
At the Forrester mansion, Finn continued to try to convince Steffy that she hadn’t actually left him because of his sudden infatuation with Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) but because Liam was actively pushing them apart.
Steffy stood her ground and bellowed it had nothing to do with Liam and everything to do with her being terrified for her children’s safety. Her babies are her number one priority.
Finn blubbered that he was sorry, and he swore that he’d never ever have any contact with Sheila again, ever. Then he begged Steffy to come home to him. Though nothing was communicated verbally, it didn’t appear Finn was getting anywhere.
