Li Finnegan told Finn to cut Sheila out once and for all.
In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for September 22, 2023, Li and Finn continue to have the same circular conversation they’ve been having for nearly a week now.
In addition, Sheila profusely thanked Deacon for the lengths he went to procure her freedom, and Hope and Thomas followed Justin Timberlake’s advice and got their sexy on. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Though Finn (Tanner Novlan) assured Li (Naomi Matsuda) that he knew exactly what he needed to say to keep Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) away, she doubted him highly and offered some advice.
First, he has to make Sheila believe 100% that what he feels for her is the opposite of love — and straight-up loathing. Second, he has to be cold and harsh. If he shows even an ounce of emotion or hesitation, she’ll take that as a sign to never stop, never stopping.

Li then demanded that Finn tell her point blank that he doesn’t ever want to see Sheila again and that he wants her out of all their lives for good…but before the doctor could answer, Li launched into a monologue about how she loves him but hates that he’s Sheila’s spawn and how she’ll never, ever forgive Jack for cheating on her and betraying her trust.
Finn did his utmost to convince Li that she was the only one that he considered a mother and that he’d keep Sheila at bay, but Li wasn’t sold. In fact, she’d all but convinced herself that Finn was conflicted by the idea of turning his back on Sheila.
Meanwhile, Sheila continued to sit at a table at Il Giardino, Trattoria Rustica, with her mouth agape, eavesdropping on Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Judge Evan Scott’s (Michael Corbett) convo.
She listened as Deacon explained how much he cared for her and how he believed she was putting in the effort to change. And sure, she can be monstrous sometimes — and a monster has got to monster — but she was driven to that, and she’s actually a really good person.
Once Evan took his leave, Sheila cornered Deacon and initially gave him a hard time about having “dinner for two” so soon after he’d broken up with her. Of course, she soon revealed that she’d overheard everything and proceeded to coo that she had no idea how she’d ever be able to thank him for his kindness, generosity, and love. (It would have been so sweet if she wasn’t so crazy.)
Elsewhere, Hope (Annika Noelle) bid Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) whisper in her ear how much he loved her and how no matter what was happening between them (and no matter how she really felt for him), he’d always love her.
Thomas also claimed that if Hope could just let go and give him a chance, then she could fall in love with him too. For her part, Hope reiterated how nice it was to have a man who loved her and only her.
