In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for October 12, 2023, Hope decides to fight (metaphorical) fire with (yet more metaphorical) fire.
In addition, Sheila and Deacon agreed to look on the bright side, and Luna made a big confession to RJ. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
While a furious Hope (Annika Noelle) railed over Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Sheila’s (Kimberlin Brown) relationship, Finn (Tanner Novlan) sat and nodded his head. He agreed with everything Hope was spitting out — especially her concern that Deacon’s involvement with Sheila endangered them all.
Hope decided she would force Deacon’s hand. Despite recent developments, she still loves her father deep, deep down inside (even if she couldn’t decide whether to be furious at him or terrified for him). As such, she couldn’t let him put it all on the line for Sheila.

But, how to best achieve her goal? Why not go running to Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang)? YES! That’s brilliant! Brooke will know what to do. Brooke will be able to talk some sense into Deacon and stop the insanity before it goes too far.
Meanwhile, Deacon marveled at Sheila’s ability to see the glass as half-full. Even though Hope and Finn reacted so negatively to the news of their romance, she saw it as a sign that their children love them. Still, the two decided to keep the “wonderful” engagement news to themselves, at least for another day or three.
At Forrester Creations, RJ (Joshua Hoffman) asked Luna (Lisa Yamada) to tell him exactly what was going on. Why did she write her letter of resignation? What’s all this talk about quitting “being for the best?”
Finally, Luna admitted that someone in her family doesn’t want her working there. Her Aunt Li (Naomi Matsuda), AKA Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) mother-in-law.
RJ pointed out that Luna’s aunt doesn’t get a say in who stays or who goes at the company. What’s more, Li doesn’t get a say in how Luna runs her own life. And not that he has a say, but he’d much rather her stay — and after the kiss he plants on her, there’s little doubt Luna will follow through on her plans.
Across the hall, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) assured Brooke that he was raring to go and sure that he’d beat Eric (John McCook) in their upcoming fashion showdown. If only RJ was working on his side. Then, his son wouldn’t know the agony of defeat. Ridge hated that for him.
Hope’s sudden arrival brought the duo’s discussion to a halt. With only a hint of trepidation, Hope dropped the bomb that was Deacon and Sheila’s engagement.
