In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for August 23, 2023, Hope decides to listen to all the dissenting voices and do exactly what they told her to do…whether she wants to or not.
Bold and the Beautiful Recap Highlights
In addition, Liam hit Steffy with a hard truth, and Brooke buzzed about the good job she’s done telling Hope how she should live her life. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
B&B Recap: My Bad
Much to Hope’s (Annika Noelle) surprise, Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) insisted that he wouldn’t put up a fuss if she decided to walk out the door and return to Liam (Scott Clifton). That’s how much he loves her.
That led Hope to admit to Thomas that all this…mess was her fault. She got his hopes up (pun probably not intended) with that kiss in Rome and…all the rest, and now she was walking away. For Liam. Of all people. She got so caught up in her feelings, but now she was not 100% sure how she feels.

Actually, scratch that. She felt like a human wrecking ball. Thomas told her to stop being so hard on herself. He came into this situation with eyes wide open, and he will never regret what happened between them. This is on both of them, not just her.
And, of course, he wanted to be with her. He loves her. That’s never going to change. But he understood if she needed to go back to her old life.
Hope sniveled that Thomas was a good man who’d truly changed for the better and implored him not to let anyone try to erase the work that he’d done.
Through yet more crying, Hope then declared that she wanted, no needed, to try and repair the damage that she’d done, to try and make her marriage work. For her daughter’s sake, if nothing else. She didn’t know if that was possible, but she had to give it a try.
All that said, she was very much ashamed of her behavior for leading Thomas on, and she hoped that one day he’d forgive her. Luckily, Thomas seemed so inclined.
With that, Hope returned to the shed she calls home, where Liam eventually joined her. To him, she put a most delicate question. Did he want to try and give their relationship one last shot…or was it too late? (And judging by the fact that Liam had earlier confided in Steffy that, despite being gratified he seemingly opened Hope’s eyes to Thomas’s faults, he was more concerned with figuring out why he let her go in the first place, yeah, it was probably too late.)
The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: Do As I Say…
Meanwhile, over at Forrester Creations, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) crowed that she was more than sure that Hope was over at Thomas’s putting an end to their situationship. Yes, Hope was back to her old principled, highly moral self, and she was certainly ready to reunite her fractured family. Yay for Hope!
