The B&B recap for Friday, December 9, 2022, sees a poor fashion choice, and a waylaid piggy, giving the game away.
In this episode, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) took her leave of a surprisingly distraught Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) and ran smack dab into daughter-in-law Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) — talk about a coincidence. Elsewhere, Steffy and John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) loved, and not so loved ones were forced to reckon with an inconvenient truth. Now, let’s take a deeper look into what went on.
Though it pains him greatly — because believe it or not, he really does like her — Deacon insists that Sheila has got to go…for her own sake as well as his. Her meddling, do-good, try-too-hard son has rumbled her faked death, and Deacon’s sure that it’s only a matter of time before Sheila is back behind bars.

For her part, Sheila is pretty impressed by Finn’s ingenuity. She’d be even more impressed if his smarts weren’t jeopardizing her freedom. Still, Deacon’s been a good friend to her, a really good friend — a really good something else as well, but that can pass without further comment — and she doesn’t want to see him pay for her crimes, so she collects her things and walks out the door. An audible sniff from Deacon can be heard.
Finn and Steffy have news for Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), Eric Forrester (John McCook), Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle), and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor): Sheila Carter wasn’t mauled to death by a bear. Furthermore, she’s still among the living and short one toe. Ick, everybody can be heard saying.
After Steffy and Finn take their leave of the assemblage, collective panic ensues. If Sheila really is alive, where has she been all this time? Is it possible that someone is harboring her? An old cellmate perhaps? Who knows? What isn’t in question is Sheila’s resourcefulness and her desperation.
Steffy has absolutely no intention of letting a little thing like getting shot and left for the dead in the venue’s back alley keep her from enjoying the spread put out by Il Giardino — it’s the little things like this that make Finn love her all the more.
After once again praising her lucky stars that her husband is alive and well — no thanks to his biological mother — and before putting in her order, Steffy excused herself, headed for the well-appointed ladies’ room, and set about phoning Taylor to update her on Sheila’s subterfuge — and who should Steffy literally plow into but the villainess in question.
But how exactly did Steffy deduce Sheila’s identity given that she’s donned such an impressive mask and wig? Why, by catching a glimpse of the woman’s open-toed shoes and spying only nine digits!
