In the Bold and the Beautiful recap for August 2, 2023, Steffy hardcore called Finn out for his attitude and, inadvertently, gave Liam exactly what he wanted in the process. (Don’t ya just hate when that happens?)
In addition, Wyatt put Liam in the hot seat, and Deacon (Sean Kanan) gave Sheila (Kimberline Brown) some sound advice…which she promptly poo-pooed. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Despite receiving them in the episode previously, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) demanded a plethora of answers from Finn (Tanner Novlan). What, exactly, happened to Kelly, and why, exactly, was Sheila doing anywhere near her daughter?
Finn hadn’t the foggiest about Sheila’s sudden appearance, but he thanked God for it. After all, it was by the intervention of his mother (yes, Li’s really going to love that) that Kelly was saved from certain death. What’s more, Sheila saved him, because he wouldn’t have been able to live with himself had Kelly perished.

So, with that in mind, Finn suggested that Steffy should cut Sheila some slack. Big mistake. HUGE mistake. Steffy then raked up the whole shooting them and then leaving them to die in an alley thing, and Finn had to admit that wasn’t a good look.
But, this time, Sheila saved a life. Make that two lives. Thanks to her, a tragedy was prevented and he was given a second chance to do better. Distraught over her husband’s rose-tinted outlook, Steffy then revealed that she knew all about the hug he and his mother shared. How can she ever trust Finn again?
At Spencer Publications, Wyatt (Darin Brooks) was flummoxed. Liam (Scott Clifton) had shown Steffy the video of Finn and Sheila embracing and she didn’t even blink an eye? What’s up with that?
Liam granted that Steffy did blink. In fact, she blinked multiple times. But, of course, she wanted to believe that she could trust her husband to do right by her and the children. Liam, on the other hand, didn’t think as highly of Finn. He loves Kelly — and Steffy — and he’s going to step up and protect them both.
That sentiment prompted Wyatt to once again ask his brother how much of this crusade has to do with wanting to protect the ladies in his life, and how much is him wanting to get back with Steffy.
Over at Deacon’s place, he prepared Sheila a soothing hot drink and hailed her as a hero. What an amazing thing she did. Neither one wanted to think what would have happened had she not been stalking *ahem* keeping a watchful eye on Finn and Kelly.
Sheila was convinced that her actions had to prove something to Finn; Deacon rightfully cautioned her against getting her hopes too high. After all, Steffy is never, ever going to forgive and forget Sheila’s past actions. She’ll always hold those against her.
He then floated the idea that Sheila continue her trend of committing selfless deeds. But what does that look like, exactly? Staying away…from Steffy, and Kelly, and Hayes, and most importantly Finn. Is he out of his mind, wondered Sheila. That’s most definitely NOT going to happen. Oh no. Never. Not in one million years. Especially not after Finn called her “Mom.” That means something.
