B&B Recap: Finn Fell Hook, Line, And Sucker For The She-Devil’s Charm

In the Bold and the Beautiful recap for July 20, 2023, Finn gets what he’s [apparently] always been missing: a hug from his biological mommy. A really, really creepy hug.

In addition, Hope threw Liam (Scott Clifton) under the bus to his brother, while Liam sang the praises of his ex-wife’s new man. Finn, mind you. Not Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). Never Thomas. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.

B&B Recap: Mama Knows Best

Down at the local lockup, Finn (Tanner Novlan) made it abundantly clear to Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) that he was there in the capacity of her physician. Nothing more. Nothing less. Also, he’s not in the least bit happy about it.

None of that bothered Sheila much. She was just pleased as punch to be in her son’s presence. She thanked him profusely for not letting her die earlier in the year, convinced as she was that his saving her life meant something.

Finn insisted that something was merely proving his dedication to the oath he swore as a doctor, but Sheila pressed on. She tried to lighten the mood by cracking jokes about not knowing why in the world she’d be so stressed. Finn wasn’t much appreciative. Sheila then waxed lyric about him and her grandson and how the thought of them is what is keeping her going. Finn wasn’t much moved.

Well, he was a bit moved. Moved enough that he admitted he’d always be grateful that she birthed him, and that he hopes she’ll find a positive purpose in her life — while she’s locked safely behind prison bars. With that, Finn declared Sheila perfectly healthy enough to stand trial.

Before Finn departed, Sheila went on another soft-voiced tear about how she’ll always be his mommy and he’ll always be her son. Then, she pulled him into a tight embrace. Despite himself, Finn gave in. After pulling apart, he blubbered that hugging her was like finding something that had been lost to him. Sheila couldn’t have been more delighted.

The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: Now Hear This

Wyatt (Darin Brooks) swung by Forrester Creations and bid Hope (Annika Noelle) tell him exactly what was going on between her and Liam…keeping in mind that he wasn’t going anywhere until he got some answers. Good answers.

Hope granted Wyatt that she did indeed initiate a kiss with Thomas in Rome, but then quickly pointed out that was not the real issue between her and Liam. That would be his continued longing for Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

What’s more, it wasn’t Hope who stopped fighting for her marriage, nor was it Hope who tucked her tail and ran. No, that was all Liam. There’s so much more to her and Liam’s split than that kiss. It’s about Liam’s years and years of betrayal, and it’s about Steffy’s place in Liam’s heart. Hope won’t abide by any of that anymore. She’s done.

B&B Recap: Irony of Ironies

Having chanced upon Liam sitting at a table at Il Giardino, Trattoria Rustica, Steffy joined him and inquired about his and Hope’s estrangement. Color her all kinds of shocked to hear that they signed divorce papers.

Liam then apologized for laying two kisses on Steffy and made sure to claim that he not only respects Steffy and Finn’s marriage but also Finn himself. How difficult it must be for Finn to be the birth son of a monster like Sheila. Look at all he’s had to overcome. Steffy agreed. And luckily her husband is leading the charge against his big bad mother. [HA! If only she knew.]
