In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for November 14, 2023, Eric makes it clear that he doesn’t intend to go gently into that good night.
In addition, Ridge betrayed Eric’s confidence, and Poppy put Luna and RJ on notice. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Despite being unable to conduct a simple phone interview without hacking, Eric (John McCook) was in good spirits. As he crowed to Donna (Jennifer Gareis) and visiting (and guilt riddled) Katie (Heather Tom), he won the showdown against Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) fair and square. He feels vindicated. Like he’s proven a point.
Donna beamed that she’s never seen her honeybear so driven and focused, and Eric could but agree. He briefly changed the subject to RJ (Joshua Hoffman) and how grateful he was to his grandson for his help and support. Oh, how he wished only the best for him. How he hopes he finds someone to love him and stand by him. But perhaps he already has. He’s seen how RJ is with Luna (Lisa Yamada).

Eric then surprised the ladies listening to him wax on by insisting he must get to the office. What about taking care of himself? What about taking a backseat?
Eric poo-pooed his lover’s concern. He felt more alive and vibrant than he ever had. Does she not want this for him? Doesn’t she stand by him? Of course she does, declared Donna.
Katie floated the idea of Eric seeking out another specialist or at least getting an opinion from his “highly respected physician” daughter. And both Logan women pulled for Eric letting his family know of his terminal diagnosis. But Eric wasn’t interested.
He still didn’t want people knowing. He didn’t want a bunch of teary faces and sad eyes surrounding him. He didn’t want his family’s pity. He wanted to get to work on his encore and that’s it. End of story.
Meanwhile, at Forrester Creations, Ridge took a beat, and cuddled with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), and then welcomed Steffy (Jacquline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). He had news about their grandfather.
Firstly, Eric didn’t win the fashion challenge. But he didn’t just hand him a win because he felt sorry for him. Oh no, his dad was “going through some stuff.” Namely, Eric’s sick. Really, really sick. Dying sick. Steffy and Thomas broke down into sobs at the thought of their grandfather passing on. They want more time. They need more time. But the best they’ll get is the time that they have.
Across the hall, Poppy (Romy Park) made RJ’s acquaintance and warned him and Luna that Li (Naomi Matsuda) was on the warpath. And while she thought it was sweet that RJ stood up for Luna once before, a repeat performance wasn’t the best idea. Li’s not backing down. No chance.
