In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for September 14, 2023, Eric and Ridge decided to let their designs do the talking. May the best man (and that would be Eric) win.
In addition, Thomas and Hope picked back up from when we last left them, RJ and Luna grew ever closer, and Brooke had (almost) nothing but praise for Ridge Junior. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
At Forrester Creations, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) delighted in the fact that his youngest son was finally designing (which is all Ridge ever wanted to see him do from the time he was a doodling infant) while all the while bemoaning his father’s insistence on completing this “grand finale line.”
What on Earth was Eric (John McCook) thinking? The Fall season at FC has already been set in stone. And Eric’s old. He should have retirement on his mind, not work. Also, Ridge wants RJ (Joshua Hoffman) at the office working with him (petulant foot stomp).

Despite Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) attempts to soothe Ridge’s ruffled feathers, he declared that he must put an end to his father’s plans. But how could Eric be convinced not to do the collection? Ridge will need to deploy love and kindness and endeavor to explain that all the stress just isn’t good for him. For her part, Brooke backed Ridge to the hilt — but she cautioned against turning RJ off designing forever.
Ridge eventually made his way to the Forrester mansion and took in the living room, which had turned into the hub of (design) operations. He was mightily impressed by the sketches he peeked at. So impressed, in fact, that he floated the idea of folding them into his couture collection. But Eric wouldn’t bite.
This is HIS collection, his and RJ’s, and he doesn’t want Ridge’s opinion. Not one iota of it. And what’s more, he was not seeking Ridge’s permission to put it together and debut it. He was just going to do it. In response, Ridge extended his hand and agreed to let the buyers decide. The decision will be made with a good old-fashioned runway off!
Meanwhile, Hope (Annika Noelle) spent her afternoon seductively removing her clothes and trying on new attire for Thomas’s (Matthew Atkinson) benefit. And there was some digit sucking between them because…sexy?
Having flirted up a storm with Luna (Lisa Yumada) — and learned, to his chagrin, that her social media profile was set to private — RJ soon joined Brooke at FC, where she talked up his design skills. The talk soon turned to Ridge and Eric’s unfolding confrontation, and Brooke expressed her concerns over Eric. RJ took exception to the idea that his pops was trying to talk Eric out of completing his magnum opus.
