While Finn conferences, Kelly plunges into peril.
In the Bold and the Beautiful recap for July 28, 2023, Finn forgets that one can take a phone call and still keep their eyes on the child they’re supposed to protect.
In addition, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) endeavored to get exactly what she wanted (and was provided with quite the opportunity) and Liam (Scott Clifton) disabused Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) of the notion that she had any say in how her life was to be conducted. Only HE knows what is best. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
At the hospital, Finn (Tanner Novlan) anxiously awaited the arrival of his stepdaughter and was soon rewarded by her presence. The two had a big day planned. Sand and sun. Surfing and sandcastle construction. The one rub? Finn was technically still on call, and he had a troublesome patient that was sure to give him grief.
Meanwhile, despite Deacon’s (Sean Kanan) attempt to bring her back down to earth, Sheila waxed lyrical about soon making things right with her extended family. But does she really think that Finn and Steffy might forgive her? Steffy…probably. Finn…absolutely. No doubt about it.

When Deacon pressed her on how she could be so certain, Sheila relayed how Finn had embraced her at the courthouse. Oh, and how he’d looked at her. There was no fear, or hatred, or judgment. It was like he was finally seeing her for the very first time.
What’s more, Sheila is absolutely convinced that she can prove herself a positive force in his life and the lives of her grandchildren. And don’t call her or her ideas crazy. Sheila HATES that word!
Fast forward and Sheila’s on the beach, propped up inside a tent, keeping a watchful eye on Finn and Kelly’s (step)daddy and daughter outing. No sooner had the duo begun creating the moat for their epic sandcastle than Finn received a dreaded call from the hospital which he was forced to take several yards away from Kelly.
In the meantime, Kelly took it upon herself to fetch some nearby H2O. After all, what’s a moat without water? Even further afield than her beloved son, Sheila could but watch in horror as Kelly was knocked over by a wave and drug into the drink. Finn didn’t notice but Sheila took off running for the child screaming her name.
Try as she might, Steffy couldn’t wrap her head around Finn’s embracing Sheila — but she certainly wasn’t going to throw away her marriage to Finn over something like that…words that Liam wasn’t exactly pleased to hear.
He refused to give Finn the benefit of the doubt, and he refused to allow Steffy to either. The risks are just too high, he argued. And until Steffy has a conversation with her husband, Liam deems him untrustworthy. Also, he’s got a feeling that something’s soon to happen. Something bad. And Liam’s got a good gut where things like this are concerned.
