In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for October 17, 2023, Donna gets an inkling as to how bad her Honey Bear’s condition truly is.
In addition, Finn makes his mother account for her actions, Ridge and Brooke get their fill of Charlie, and Luna thanks RJ for his interference. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Eric’s (John McCook) flash of inspiration was quickly followed by yet another coughing fit accompanied by torrents of blood. Having heard the racket clear from the other room, Donna (Jennifer Gareis) raced in to assess the situation.
Eric insisted he was fine, then dropped his bloody handkerchief. Before Donna could voice her concerns, Eric begged her not to make a big deal out of nothing. Donna recognized that it was a big deal and called Eric’s doctor.

Eric complained that his girlfriend could do what she wanted, but it wasn’t going to change anything. He was going to live while he was alive. He was still bound and determined to do his grand finale.
Dr. Colby (Justin Davis) was soon on the scene and based on his reaction to the latest update, all was not well. In fact, it appeared so dire that Donna had to wonder if the physician would tell her that Eric was dying.
Meanwhile, at Forrester Creations, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) tried to erase all thoughts of Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) — which proved to be easier said than done.
In the hopes of changing the subject, Brooke suggested discussing her daughter’s relationship with Ridges’s son. If you can call it a relationship. That also proved to be a no-go area.
Instead, the two turned their attention to the upcoming showdown between father and son. Charlie (Dick Christie) had opinions. Big opinions. As far as he was concerned, the whole thing was like the shootout at the O.K. Corral.
Despite being chagrined by the comparison, Ridge had to admit that the runway challenge might very well be his dad’s “last stand.”
Across the hall, Luna (Lisa Yamada) thanked RJ (Joshua Hoffman) for helping her stand up to her aunt while he insisted that she did all the work. The only thing he did was get them in the same room together.
At the hospital, Li (Naomi Matsuda) did everything she could think of to avoid Finn’s (Tanner Novlan) pointed questions about Luna. Unfortunately for her, Finn didn’t intend to give up until he got some answers. So, what was going on? Why did she insist that Luna leave FC? “Luna’s mother turned my life upside down years ago,” offered Li, who added, “I’ll never forgive her for that.”
