In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for September 22, 2023, Deacon gives Sheila the kiss-off, but she soon learns the depth of his love for her.
In addition, Thomas assures Hope that their time will come, and Finn assures Li that she’s the only mother for him. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Try as she might, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) couldn’t quite wrap her head around what Deacon (Sean Kanan) was suggesting. Was he really saying that they should quit one another — and not only quit one another but no longer reside with each other? Yes, yes, he was.
But, it wasn’t so much that Deacon really wanted those things to happen as he needed those things to happen, for the sake of his relationship with Hope (Annika Noelle). That Sheila could understand. She’s proud of Deacon’s reforged bond with his daughter. Hell, she desires nothing more than to emulate that when it comes to her offspring.

A chime from Deacon’s cellphone alerted him to a prearranged meeting, but before he could leave, Sheila insisted on singing his praises and issuing heartfelt thanks for all that he’d done for her — putting a roof over her head, believing in her, making her feel seen, proving to her that she had worth, that she existed. Deacon had truly been the closest thing to a Knight In Shining Armor that she could hope for.
But there was yet more that Deacon had done for Sheila, as she soon discovered. After spying on her love whooping it up at a nearby table with Judge Evan Scott (Michael Corbett), Sheila saddled up as close as possible and eavesdropped on His Honor expressing surprise at Deacon calling in the favor that resulted in Sheila’s freedom.
Meanwhile, rather than discipline, Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri), Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) and Hope (Annika Noelle) marveled over the parent trap that he sprung. What an ingenious young man. They’re so proud.
Before taking his leave of the two, Douglas reiterated how the two of them throwing caution to the wind and getting together would be a dream come true. But no pressure!
Post meal — which consisted of pizza, frites (that’s french fries, BTW), and wine — Thomas and Hope lounged on the couch, and the former went to great pains to both assure Hope that he didn’t have a hand in Douglas’s deception and to stress that he’s sure Hope will one day be sure that he’s the man for her.
Hope granted that it was nice to be with a man who loved and valued her and only her — but she was still not ready to use the L-word, let alone make any sort of commitment. However, she would like Thomas to make love to her, and that was something that he was very into.
Elsewhere, Finn (Tanner Novlan) swore to Li (Naomi Matsuda) that, as far as he was concerned, she was his one and only mother. And she could rest assured that he would find a way to get Sheila out of their lives FOREVER. (Easier said than done. Easier said than done.)
