In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for September 28, 2023, Brooke and Ridge’s best-laid plans (*wink*) come to a screeching halt.
In addition, Finn got yet another talking to, and Deacon pulled out all the stops to make Sheila’s night. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
At Forrester Creations, having seemingly put his worry over Eric (John McCook) temporarily behind him, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) instead groused to Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) about Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) situation — for which he entirely blamed Finn (Tanner Novlan).
And, it’s not so much that he blames Finn for being Sheila’s (Kimberlin Brown) son as it is that he blames Finn for not being more decisive where his feelings for Sheila are concerned.

Brooke tried to argue that Finn had made his feelings for Sheila clear, but Ridge testily reminded his wife that Finn had not only hugged Sheila but called her mom as well. How is that making himself clear?
Brooke wrapped her arms around Ridge and cooed that Steffy was lucky to have a papa who sought to protect her. This prompted Ridge to hiss that the only way he could truly protect his daughter is to commit a crime that carries a looooong jail sentence.
Batting her eyelashes, Brooke suggested that the two of them head for home and the bathtub in their master suite, and Ridge agreed. However, no sooner had the two begun sealing their plan with a kiss than Taylor (Krista Allen) waltzed right on in.
The air was thick with awkward tension, and Taylor’s crack about the two of them appearing to be just fine despite the turmoil surrounding them didn’t help matters.
The trio managed to adult and have a conversation about recent goings-on, and Taylor was quick to update her ex and ex-bestie on Steffy and the children. All is well in Rome.
Before jetting off for FC building, Taylor had reiterated to Finn that he needed to do whatever was necessary to disentangle himself from Sheila should he ever wish to his wife and children again. Taylor warned Finn that Sheila derives her power from getting in people’s mind and manipulating them — the minute she detects an opening, the slightest glimmer of hope, her victims lose everything.
Meanwhile, Deacon (Sean Kanan), an old romantic at heart, called in a favor and had his staff recreate the date night that he and Sheila shared months earlier. She was more than delighted, but she was also confused. Weren’t they just talking about ending things for good? Deacon implored her not to worry about that for the time being. They have all the time in the world to worry.
