In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for August 9, 2023, Liam wasted zero time in proving what a lowdown, dirty dog he truly is.
In addition, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) filled in yet more people about her dumpster fire of a life, and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Hope (Annika Noelle) had a familiar conversation. (Not that every conversation on this show doesn’t have a ring of familiarity to them.) Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
At Spencer Publications, Finn (Tanner Novlan) continued to rail at Liam (Scott Clifton). His rival doesn’t know anything about true love! Oh, contraire insisted Liam. And it’s not that he’s saying that he and Steffy were each other’s true loves. Oh no, he’s not saying that. But he is saying that his “evolved” feelings for Steffy haven’t just disappeared.
Feelings aside, Liam swore to Finn that the only thing that he was doing was trying to ensure Steffy’s safety and the safety of the children — something he feels compelled to do in the aftermath of Finn embracing Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) literally and emotionally. Those acts have put them all in jeopardy, and Liam will not abide that.

Still, Finn railed. He was not going to let Liam’s obvious attempts at sabotage derail his and Steffy’s marriage. The one thing that Liam is forgetting is how much Steffy loves Finna and their family. It’s…a lot. She’s not going to just walk away.
Liam’s rebuttal was to remind Finn that this was all his doing. And as for Steffy, she loves her kids above ANBODY and ANYTHING and they are in danger due to Finn’s sick connection to Sheila. Finn groused that Liam was toxic and using the threat of Sheila to manipulate Steffy…and he’s not going to allow that. He’s not going to allow Liam to take Steffy from him. NEVER!
Off that contentious convo, Liam headed for the Forrester abode and declared to Steffy that he had something to confess. He…he…well, he kinda, sorta told Finn that he still had feelings for her. His bad. But also, he’s not really sorry that he did it because, well, he does still have feelings for her. “Feelings” feelings. Love feelings. Can she say the same? Could she maybe, possibly be interested in taking him back? Because if she was, he’d make sure she didn’t regret it.
Over at Forrester Creations, having been filled in on recent goings on between Steffy and Finn, and having warned Steffy that if things were really over between her and Finn then Liam would be waiting in the wings, Hope (Annika Noelle) tried to busy herself with actual work.
Unfortunately, Brooke wanted to dissect Hope’s decision to end her marriage. Again. Doesn’t her daughter care? Of course, she cares, an indignant Hope countered. But she’s also got to move onward and upward. She can’t live with regret. She can’t wallow. She has to have something to be excited about and something to look forward to.
And if Steffy and Finn reunite, what then, queried Brooke. Well, honestly, Hope didn’t think much of that possibility. No way Finn is going to give up on his marriage without a fight.
Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) swung by Finn’s office for a chat, and took great exception to his son-in-law’s attitude. Where does he get off letting Ridge and Steffy and the children down and still trying to play the injured party? Finn created this problem. So, what is Finn going to do about it?
