In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for October 2, 2023, Sheila Carter decided to throw caution to the wind (as if she ever does anything else) and give real love a real shot.
In addition, Taylor made her opinions about Hope and Thomas’s *ahem* affair plain, Hope made her position equally clear, and Taylor had barbed words for her rival. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
A slack-jawed Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) ordered Deacon (Sean Kanan) up off his knees and refused to entertain his marriage proposal. No way was she going to let him throw away everything he’d achieved for the likes of her — as if she’d even ask him to do that.
Deacon took exception to Sheila turning him down while also getting across that she loves him. That just didn’t jive. Sheila blubbered that she couldn’t comprehend why Deacon would consider making a life with her, knowing what it could cost him, and he persisted that it was because he was head over heels for her.

Sheila floated the idea that she is just bad, but Deacon argued the contrary. He relayed how he saw something good in her. He reminded Sheila that he himself was a changed man. And he insisted that she too could change if she just said one little word, namely “Yes.”
After a little more convincing — okay, a lot more convincing — Sheila finally agreed to take that much-discussed leap of faith and agreed to become Mrs. Deacon Sharpe.
Over at Forrester Creations, Hope (Annika Noelle) huffed to Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) that Taylor (Krista Allen) was now in the know about her and Thomas’s (Matthew Atkinson) sexcapades.
Brooke, for her part, groused that Taylor would probably blame Hope for preying on Thomas. Ridge strongly disagreed, then snapped to Hope that none of them (her mother included) were happy about Hope and Thomas’s involvement.
Meanwhile, Taylor wondered to Thomas if Hope might not be targeting him because he was a Forrester man — after all, Logan women were notorious for bagging such a game. Thomas argued that he and Hope were on the same page, then immediately proved they were not by saying he sees the two of them having a bright future together.
After expressing further concern for her son’s well-being/mental health, Taylor hugged him and watched as he took his leave. Enter Hope, whom Taylor took to task. Taking exception to Taylor’s multitude of insinuations — particularly that her turning to Thomas was the result of her insecurity over Liam (Scott Clifton) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) — Hope gave as good as she got. What’s more, she got to the real root of Taylor’s concern: that she was becoming like her mother. All Hope could say to that was, “Maybe.”
Soon after Hope sashayed out, Brooke appeared, searching for her daughter. Tayor hissed that she’d just had words with Hope and that “Your daughter thinks she may be turning into a younger version of you.”
