Douglas Forrester isn’t exactly thrilled that Grandpa Ridge Forrester and Grandma Taylor Hayes are getting married because Grandma Brooke Logan has been left out in the cold — and she did nothing to deserve it!
It was déjà vu all over again for Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) after he discovered that his father, Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) had set up Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) regarding the call to Child Protective Services (CPS). Now that he knows the truth, the little boy’s got a decision to make. Soap Hub polled B&B readers to get their thoughts on Douglas’s next move.
The majority of you, 73%, say that Douglas should confide in his mother, Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) and stepdad Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), and share what he knows — even though he hasn’t exactly been especially nice to Liam as of late. They’ve provided a safe haven for Douglas in the past and can easily do so again. Hope could likely win full legal custody once Thomas’s machinations are exposed. Douglas’s future is in his hands. All he needs is Hope for the future.
Many of you, 14%, say that Douglas should confront his father and lay down the law; he can demand that either his father tell the truth or Douglas will! Of course, given the size disparity between father and son, Douglas might want to ensure he has some backup before drawing a line in the sand.
Some of you, about 9%, say that Douglas should convince his father to come clean, but threats aren’t necessary. In the past, Douglas has told his dad that deep down, he knows that he’s a good guy. Douglas can try that approach again, and then maybe Thomas will tell the truth. It’ll be a lot easier for everyone to forgive Thomas if he’s honest. If he’s not, he may face being ostracized by his loved ones.
The rest of you, 4%, feel that Douglas should take Thomas’s advice and remain silent. Thomas is fairly convincing when he tells Douglas that this is a grownup situation and he doesn’t understand what’s going on. In a way, that’s true. Ultimately, Ridge has made his own choice; he choose not to confront Brooke with the recording. If he had, it’s possible that none of this would be happening.
